Will the strips work fine just with the interruptor? I see the bridge is to connect other phillips lights and control different times, but If I only want to turn on/off any time manually is the interruptor enough?

Hey! I also bought the Philips Hue Lightstrip Plus recently and I have been wondering if it would be ok to buy the Hue Bridge V1 instead of the V2?

The range is your router problem :) Invest into some Asus AX wireless routers.
@Cpt_ViBer3 жыл бұрын
Router has nothing to do with this. Strip wil connect through Zigbee to your bridge.
@JB19783 жыл бұрын
@@Cpt_ViBer it has no physical connection so yes, distance from and quality of the AP matters here.

Do we HAVE to use the Ethernet cable that’s included or can we use our own?
@interpellare4 жыл бұрын
from what I read on bestbuy's description, it comes included.

Seems like theres a lot of lacking of basic research been done by commenters and the video poster. 1. Philips hue doesn't work by 2.4 or 5gig wifi coming from your router. But rather a wireless protocol called Zigbee that runs on 2.4 and uses lower power and bandwidth. 2. Zigbee devices can relay signals from the closest device. It does not have to be the hue bridge in this case. But rather one or more of the 3 light bulbs you got with the starter kit you mentioned. Meaning if you had of installed the bulbs in your over head lights going to your room. You would have been in range in the original location. As pointed out by others, normally the serial number is on the device and the box it came in.

The serial number is also printed on the outside of the box. 🤣

Her mistakes were 1. She had to get the serial number for the light strip to connect to the bridge 2. The lightstrip was not in range so she had to fix it Thank me later.

That seems odd - 5m is a tiny distance for WIFI to cover. We have HUE bulbs throughout our house and have never had an issue and some are definitely well over 5m from the router. The bridge uses your WIFI to reach the bulbs etc. so no issue with the bridge itself. Have you checked if you are outputting 2.4ghz and 5ghz WIFI? Probably time for a new router I suspect.
@jantoresandvik2 жыл бұрын
The Hue bridge uses Zigbee to communicate with bulbs, lightstrips etc. I does noe use WiFi to communicate with bulbs. The bridge is connected to your WiFi router so that the app on your phoen can communicate with the bridge.

1st mistake was buying a Philips hue. Way too expensive and way too much trouble to set up.
@laurelsullivan49323 жыл бұрын
Not if you read the directions. It isn't. You get 3options on how to hook the lightstrip or light bulb , up. They don't even give you words really, just pictures lol. I have two light strips, 4 recessed lighting bulbs and 1 I In my ceiling fan. So far. I can control them with the Hue app, Google Assistant, my Alexa Dot, the Alexa app on my phone. Just don't get the Bluetooth ones that make you download The wiz app. The colors on that light strip suck. And the app isn't that great. Imo

finely -did not know needed the light strip plus--9 (the + being the power supply need for each strip set up) hue does not tell you that if you but individual light strips-Thanks for the tips on mistakes to avoid.

So how long can you go for the hub to connect with the lights because my router is like downstairs where my room is so I don’t know if it can connect to it
@richj22014 жыл бұрын
hook everything up temperately were you want the strip and if not work you may need to move the hub- by getting a longer router cable.

I guess that it’s better if you stick it on the flor behind the bed so the light can wash the wall behind the bad. And the installation could’ve been much easier

Thanks for sharing this! Very valuable. In theory the range of the bridge should be 100 meter?
@monkeywizard775 жыл бұрын
It's basically like a bluetooth range (but a little bit less). Luckily if you have multiple HUE products, they create a mesh and connect to each other. However, more hue products = more $$. and stuff isn't cheap.

Luckily the addition of a lightbulb or two in between would help since they create a mesh connection and speak to each other.
