So I have a map and I’m trying to add a duplicate of the corn crop into the map but when I save the map from giants editor the path that I entered for the duplicated corn crop gets erased but all the rest of the information is still there in the map I3D Only the XML path has been erased so I’m trying to figure out how do I fix the XML ID so that it doesn’t have that problem

@@oldfashionedwrx3574 you're right. The A-10 has sensors for detecting missile plume from launches, it's hit or miss though. You'll get a missile launch warning beep if it detects one. It also goes off for friendly Mavericks, ATGMs, and others, so it's not perfect.

@@Kmbtkrl Thanks! I am thrilled that it came without any defects. I kept reading terrible review after another and was horrified. Finally I asked myself when bad reviews has ever stopped me and ordered it. SO thankful for a working hotas. I was mastering the other planes with just mouse and keyboard. I will say slewing is hard. That was easy AF with my keys bound to numeric 4, 8, 5, and 6. Practice makes perfect I guess with the slew?
@Kmbtkrl
@Kmbtkrl 2 жыл бұрын
@@sschreck the slew ministick on the warthhog is IMHO the worst part of the whole stick. I've had limited success assigning curves to the axis and playing with saturation to mitigate some of the sensitivity and jumpiness, but never have been satisfied fully. I saw someone somewhere that makes a 3d printed extension for it that apparently increases the granularity of it a bit but I've never tried it.

A little late, but browsing start up videos and yours is the most comprehensive. Well done. I'm an A-10C Crew Chief in the Air National Guard for the past 11 years, and I'm an engine run instructor/certifier for the past 10 years. You're about 99% right with everything. In the comments someone did mention you should test the warning lights prior to APU start (in real life) to make sure your caution and fire warning lights are indeed working. One thing that I did find wrong, the APU running alone does not produce any hydraulic pressure during a normal start up. It can, however. provide left or right side hydros for maintenance runs if the Crew Chief goes under the belly and maneuvers the hydraulic transfer selector valve to either the lt or rt side so we can test flight controls, braking system, etc for maintenance. Prior to engine start you have to have the position lights on. Flight lines are noisy, so this gives warning to folks that your engines are running. Since I'm not a pilot...shouldn't you have the IFF turned on before you take off? Good video!
@Kmbtkrl
@Kmbtkrl 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for the info! It's good to get a little validation from someone with practical experience with the real thing; I really appreciate it!!! Some of the things I skipped over were just because this was the bare bones- get a new pilot in the air startup tutorial, but I agree there are a ton of little things I skipped over- warning lights test, o2 gauge test, IFFCC BIT, etc but it was just stuff that wasn't 100 crucial in a beginner sim environment. I was wrong about the APU hydro tho. When I made this video, the IFF was non-functioning in the sim so I skipped it. The new A10C II is out now tho, so I'm working on updating the videos for all the new goodies we get like HMCS, a working IFF, OBOGS ect. Again, thanks for the feedback, I always love to hear stuff from the people who actually do this every day.

@Kmbtkrl
@Kmbtkrl 4 жыл бұрын
Make sure your flaps aren't down when trying to fire. Although I think you get a FLAPS warning for that. Are you making sure to TMS-up after you get the target in the MAV screen? China hat will get your sensors pointed at the target, but after that you have to make sure the MAV screen is SOI and press TMS up to actually lock the Maverick seeker head. Depending on the model, it might take a couple of tries to get it to lock. You'll know it's locked when the cross hairs 'pinch' down on the target and start to wobble and shake.
@TheD4VR0S
@TheD4VR0S 4 жыл бұрын
@@Kmbtkrl Thanks for answering it wasnt flaps, the only way i could fire was making the mav soi and targeting the targeting the target with the mav seeker so i had to lock the target twice once with the diamond in the hud and then with the circle in the hud could not fire when the pod was soi
@Kmbtkrl
@Kmbtkrl 4 жыл бұрын
@@TheD4VR0S yeah it's different for each sensor. Of you're using the HUD, the diamond is just where the tgp is looking. The little wagon wheel circle/cross is where the Maverick seeker head is looking.

@@jjsemperfi Yup! There's only ever one SPI, so scrolling thru the steerpoints (using DMS up/down with the HUD SOI) will just move the SPI to the active steerpoint, unless you have set the SPI manually somewhere else. If I'd had the TAD as SOI while I was doing that, you would have seen me cycling thru map scales, as that's what DMS up/down does with that sensor SOI.
