I do something similar, but more in the style of South Park, with background scenes and moving the characters like in 2D animations. I use keyframes in Kdenlive to make the stop motion effect more effective

Nah, it can be done. Holding the bulb vertically down with a glove, I knocked it against a metal object until it cracked. The glass fell down without damaging the filaments, and I cut them off with wire cutters. They are still straight, you can solder them, but... I have no idea how to power them
@xxxblackvenomxxx
@xxxblackvenomxxx Ай бұрын
Same here, I've extracted a couple of pieces off damaged ones (not sure which component was dead, the filaments seemed fine. I've tried to power them with up to 36 Volts and nothing happened, which can easily be, since there are a number (maybe a dozen?) small LEDs inside each filament. I've also tried cutting the reflecting rubber off them and see if I can extract the single LEDs, but at least my first attempt failed. One funny thing I noticed: If you got a UV LED lying around, try lighting it on them. Not only does the rubber reflect the light like crazy, they also give out a bit of voltage, much like very bad solar cells. I'd like to reuse the OK filaments, but have no idea how yet, which really bugs me. I don't want to put high voltage on them and don't think they take that at all.

Did you consider a lithium upgrade (probably either 3s or 4s would work well) and if so, why did you decide to stay with NiCd? (they won't explode, are very safe, unless you eat the cadmium)

The wipers of the rotating selector switch will end up cutting the PCB copper tracks. Very poor design. Or is it a case of programmed fault?

If you've got a jeweler's loupe or something similar, that can give you a magnified view of the filaments at a long enough distance that you don't have to smash the glass, if you inspect each filament closely you should be able to find a little black dot on one of them, which is the failed LED. When it stops conducting properly it ends up with most or all of the full 300V across it, so you get very high power dissipation in a tiny area (and probably some arcing as well once the LED goes full open circuit). The result is enough heat to carbonise the yellow fluorescent plastic in the vicinity of the failed LED, producing a little black dot. Since each filament is a string of dozens of LEDs in series, and all 4 filaments are in series as well (or at least they are in the 2 LED filament bulbs I've had fail), it only needs one LED to fail and the entire thing is kaput. I don't see any way of fixing them either. Maybe if you could somehow get the filament assembly out without breaking the bulb, and replace the bad filament with a still good one cannibalised from another failed bulb.

Its actually not that bad. Ive definitely seen worse. The switching chip uses primary side regulation. The isolation distance is ok. The output diode looks like a synchronous rectifier chip. Probably ok for 1A, enough to run LED lights.

The problem with 3 lithium cells is that you need to use a lithium ballance charge board and it might not fit in the case. You can't just connect them in series. Easier to just replace the cells with NiMH but they'll cost about the same as a new drill.

Defective by design. I wonder if that was one of those post-manufacturing changes where they either were forced to change suppliers for the case, or someone decided to save a bit of money by changing the case.

The same problem has happened to me, I think someone from my family member might have accidentally used it on a heavy-wattage appliance which is not recommended, normally my smart wifi plug ratted 16amp as a result the relay stopped functioning however, the wifi section is still working. The relay model no is BPD-SS-105 DM which is not easily available in my Local Electronics Market so it becomes useless.

It doesn't take 24v to fry one of these. I have one that died on a USB power bank. I was pulling the feed from it for over an hour and it died. At least one regulator seems to be fried (it's the only one getting hot, rather the inductor is getting hot).

Thank you for this video. I just picked up a second hand wyze car, plugged it into my camera, and it ran for about a minute before dying and getting super hot. A quick look at the board and that same chip is fried. And a quick google shows that wyze was replacing a bunch of peoples cameras under warranty, because the wyze branded battery packs were frying cameras. Which is annoying, but atleast I know which chip to get now :P
