I've rewatched this vlog series at least twice by now, and I keep coming back to it in preparation for my Camino that I want to take before I head off to University, and I still can't believe how incredibly underrated these vlogs are. The amount of effort into editing and documentation alone is impressive.

The messing and stuff at the albergue turns me off going.. That would wreck my head.. I love the reflective part.. People being real.. Not just bunches of lads talking shite and acting like kids.. I'd be so annoyed
@JonesyDublin5 жыл бұрын
Theres usually quiet spaces for people who dont want to drink or be on that kind of buzz. And the bedrooms are always quiet and everything finished usually by 9pm. The group I walked with usually had albergue to ourselves because of time of year so it just shows one side of it. We met plenty of ppl who didnt join us at night but were never disturbed so i wouldnt let it put u off. Summer may be trickier as much more ppl. Ps a bit of shite talk and letting loose can be fun. Life is hard enough.

Stephen, having not long returned home from my third year of the Camino Del Norte (me and two friends are doing it in stages), your vlog has been a great way of fending off the post-Camino blues. During stages of the Norte I did little videos, but kept the content light and factual. I hope that your good example of sharing personal insights and some inner monologue will inspire me to be more open and reflective next year when I tackle the final stages of the Norte into Santiago. Congrats again, a great watch - funny, informative, thoughtful, entertaining and consistently affecting. I hope you’ll record your return to the Camino - ideally before too long!

Hi Stephen, what an amazing adventure you had with your new friends. I love the people you travelled with, the comaraderie and humour was wonderful. I felt I suffered many hangovers with you. I binge watched all your vlogs. I plan on doing the Camino next April/May 2020 . The weather in winter looks a bit risky with the big snow drifts you experienced. I am in NZ, home of the best rugby team in the world. Your fame hasn't reached us here but will see what I can find. I hope you have caught up with some of your friends. Well done:)

I've walked the Camino Frances and will again in May, 2019. I really love watching Vlogs. Yours might be the most "real" Camino blog (and my favorite). I so enjoy all the Vlogs, but I get an even more accurate view of the Camino in your filming. Not to mention, you're slightly crazy...which is always appreciated. Thank you. Buen Camino.

Just listened to your podcast with Dan Mullins. Thanks for filming and being so honest. I'm thinking about walking the Camino and your videos are inspiring. DO you think it is hard to make friends on the trail or are most people open to chatting? Hope you're happy and living your best life.

What a wonderful, emotional ending to a phenomenal journey. Thank you for sharing your experiences and bringing this path to life for so many of us. I plan to gift myself the opportunity to see what I am made of on the Camino next year and my decision has been cemented, in part, because of these vlogs of yours - the ripple effect of your Camino. Congratulations and arohanui from New Zealand.

Can I ask some advice? I've left the trip open ended as in that I've no return flight booked yet. So i'm planning 42 days for resting etc....would you say it's worth booking later on in the trip or do it tonight before i leave maybe? Dub here as well. Good to see an Irishman do videos worth watching pal. Cheers.
@JonesyDublin6 жыл бұрын
Daniel Crowe to be honest 42 days is loads. And depending on who u meet you may not want to take rest days. I had originally planned 3 rest days but only took 1 because I didnt want to fall behind the friends Id made. So it only took me 30 days of walking. If u arrive early to Santiago its a decent place to stay an extra day or 2. Porto is only 4 hours by coach so its worth a visit too, maybe book a flight home to Dublin from there. Always an option. But if u booked flight home now there wud be nothing to worry about. 42 days is loads. S
