Of the five days I stayed there, 2 were rainy days. But I didn’t mind. It’s still a beautiful place to be…even in the rain:)

Weather in Dubai right now is beautiful! Temperatures are perfect, not too hot, and no rain in sight:)

@@ButchBrown7 Any of the hotels on the Palm Jumeirah are great to stay in (but also very expensive). If you want something less expensive but nice, The Radisson Blue in Media city is nearby and nice to stay in. Yes, I'm a cyclist (triathlete). Dubai is one of the best places anywhere to go cycling. You can rent a bike up at Al Qudra (in the desert) and cycle for hundreds of kilometres on roads that are built just for cyclists (no cars permitted). I highly recommend!

A full loop is around 50 km’s. But then there are lots of extensions that you can add on ranging from 20-30 km. You could get in a lot of distance if you wanted to:)

People ride either mountain bikes or road bikes. Both types of bikes work on this hill. I personally ride a road bike or TT bike, but a mountain bike would work as well.

Hello! From the parking lot where you leave your car, it's 10 km's cycling to the base of the hill. Then it's 25 km's cycling from the base of the hill to the top. So a total of 35 km's!

We did a 50km ride that day. Took about 1-1/2 hours:)

Hi Marianne - thanks for your question! It really depends on how much you plan on riding while you're here. There are plenty of places to ride your bike in Dubai. One of the best places is Al Qudra where you can cycle for about 120 km's without repeating your path! There's a Trek Bike Store at the top of the stick at Al Qudra. Just enter Trek Bicycle Store Al Qudra into Google Maps and it will bring you there. They have a great selection of bikes to choose from. You can also cycle at DXBike at NAS. Only a 9 km loop, but you can exit and ride along the canal and beach from there as well. They also have bike rentals at that location. I hope this helps - good luck!

Hi there - if you have a reservation for the zip line or a reservation for the restaurant, you can get through the gates. Cyclists don't need a reservation, you can simply ride past through the checkpoint. I hope this helps!

On this particular ride, we didn't do the full 180 km's, but you definitely could. We ride at Al Qudra pretty much every weekend, usually around 85 - 100km's at a time. We're very fortunate with this incredible facility!

The most important thing is bike fit, and what your budget is. I would recommend going into your local bike shop and having them size you for a bike and make recommendations on what bike would be the best fit for you. Then, if your budget permits a new bike, you can work with the bike shop. You can always look for a good second hand bike as well. I've been riding Cervelo's for over 15 years; but there are lots of good brands out there. Good luck!
