Kaitlyn, I love your content, but your lifestyle is kind of expensive. I am making 7k per month before taxes as a social media manager, and I don’t buy luxury dog food , I make it by my own, I also don’t go to Starbucks or another coffee shops, because I invested in Breville coffee machine and just adding a syrup from Starbucks. The lifestyle we see in social media is not how real people live like. Verrry important to separate yourself mentally from it. Especially if you are not a millionaire. Because one day you would be broken. Just a friendly reminder to remember about healthy financial relationships,especially in Canada, especially in 2024
@astridj39188 күн бұрын
You don't need to be a millionaire to buy luxury dog food and coffee from cafes lol. I was dirt broke selling pussy in undergrad and even I got starbucks everyday like it's really not the expensive lifestyle you think it is

hey, i thought your video was interesting and sweet but in my opinion the beginning comes off a bit.. inaccurate? i dont want to say it's oblivious or ignorant but i can see how some people can see it like that. because, you started off your video saying 'it's possible to have somewhat of a budget and not spend a crazy amount of money' when your final amount is greater than the total monthly salary of a minimum wage worker (which means anyone earning more than that is going to have very very little in savings). it's cool that you have found your ways to save and be happy with the high costs here, it's just not realistic to say that this is not a 'crazy amount of money' because the cost of living is ultimately a huge problem and crisis in canada. it's a crazy amount of money because it's crazy to live in a country where the people that keep the country afloat can't even afford to live here without constant sacrifices
@krislui8529 күн бұрын
well her spending is also not the same as people who are earning minimum wage. they usually live in basement with roommates, get the cheapest phone plan, buy from cheaper grocery stores and don't eat out

Love your video, very insightful. Love your hair too! I live in Brampton and pay a rent of $2500 with utilities every month, though it is a basement and not an apartment. Love the food ideas too, would have liked for you to include more protein in your meals for better health, however. Keep up the amazing vlogs, cant wait to see you grow xo

I've recently started including a lot more protein in my diet and I feel a lot more clear headed because of it too! Love lentils and make protein oatmeal every morning. Maybe I'll make an updated video eventually or include more ideas in vlogs 💕

Did not know Egypt exports their 3 legged cats to Canada ! Must be very expensive to fly them 5700 miles
@kaitmalone2 ай бұрын
It’s surprisingly not that expensive! There’s a lot of rescues that save stray cats there that send them to North America to find better homes. I paid around $500 for my first pair which were bonded and then $350 for my newest one. Some are more expensive around $600 and dogs are more expensive to fly over. But it’s cheaper than buying from a breeder and saves a cat from the streets 💗

I live in New Jersey in the U.S. and I pay roughly $1650 including electric for rent. (About $2250 CAD) It’s very high for me as a single person and WAY more than I was paying for rent pre-pandemic, but low for what rent costs in this area now 🙁 Wild times. Appreciate this video! I love watching peoples budgeting videos and it’s nice to find someone who’s relatable. Also your cats are so beautiful!

Limes you get an A➕️ for rolling them first. You can get juice from limes quicker in a pinch if you stick a dinner fork in the middle and twist. By chance we're you possibly thinking about and or regretting knowing your cute old school glass juicer like our grandmothers used back in the day. I recall when you thrifted that baby back Canada. If juicers could talk it was probably saying "sorry about your luck" while laughing ! Teehee. On another note I'm so sorry to learn about the loss of your sweet fur baby Lucy. I loved watching her (both kitty's) slumber in the boxes you put down for them. Or just chillin' out in the background.. Cats decide have a mind of their own. When they want it without words we can tell excatly what they need. Lucy was famous for picking impromptu times to jump up on you for lovin' & snuggles from mama many times while I was watching you do "Krime With Kait". Rom one czt mom to another It would be impossible not to notice how very Meowgical you are to them. Kait face it your CAT-TAS-TIC in their eyes which is why they love you so much. "SIMPLY Meowgical" Sending U ❤ , light & virtual hug💤 your way . FYI ~ She'll always be with you, cherish your memories they should go a long way to comfort you iat this difficult time ! The Rainbow Bridge is a beautiful place. You'll be together again. Rest In Paradise Lucy xoxo.

Although there are more abandoned houses in the rural south (GA, SC, etc) I would definitely be cautious because the people there arent the nicest. I moved to rural GA for about a year and the racism, boredom, amount of time spent driving are definitely not worth it at all. If you want to raise your kids somewhere, I would definitely not recommend the schools in rural Georgia whatsoever (so much racism and ignorance from those kids omg). Just be cautious of anywhere in the rural south.

My plan is to home school so I'm not so much worried about school districts. For me it's about the house and land, not so much about the location so to speak. I really love the idea of living in the western side of Virginia in the valley too because it's so beautiful there with the mountains. Thank-you for your insight though!

The dream home, it's not a colonial. It's a colonial revival if it's built in 1910. The bathrooms are likely original. Outhouses were almost unheard of by that point because indoor plumbing was standard. But if the house is reselling with no new pictures, it flags that there's a problem in restoring or updating. Likely it's going to cost a small fortune for problems that exist, like removing mold, lead paint, or other issues. A year and a half is a questionable amount of time for someone to dump it, which tells me it just needs a lot of work, and the price increase is inflation. Working in history and spending a lot of time talking about historic and reconstruction architecture, I've learned a ton. It makes me highly question when houses get dumped that quick.
@kaitmalone7 ай бұрын
Thank-you for the clarification since I was going off what the listing says! And good to know about the bathrooms too...my grandmother still didn't have indoor plumbing at her family farm in Canada in the 1950's so I guess I assumed off my own experience. Honestly, if I was able to I'd dump a small fortune into this house haha
@sarasynfox7 ай бұрын
@kaitmalone I can't blame you! If I had any interest in Georgia I might be tempted myself! That's a gorgeous house! And those tubs... I would be tempted just for the tubs, because those are hard to find. The kitchen needs some love, but historic homes, I absolutely love them. And I totally get it on the listing. Most people don't know if it's a revival or an original colonial or Georgian home unless they're a history nerd. It doesn't really make much of a difference, in reality, beyond an older home needing way more love and having so much weirdness from modifications. Honestly, unless you love the work involved in an 18th century home, I'd go for a revival any day! Much less "what were they thinking!"
@Anne-pk8gs7 ай бұрын
Or possibly serious foundation issues. No new photos means I hope they didn’t gut it & tear out the history, character & features that make it your dream home. I’m guessing a 4400 sq ft $300k historic home would require $200-$300k in renovations.

Kaitlin hairspray gets out ink check out a book i have 2 actually that i surprisingly got while on a thrift adventure. Only because i use to watch a show & half way through they did a 2 min segmebt on handy household tips. That show has been off the air years ago along with the informative hint segment. The books are called "Haley's Handy Hints" they are amazing. I'm sure you could find a website online with his hints & tips as well. But i know the hairspray on ink works. Hope this helps and hope you see this before you throw your fave white tank away. Take care
