I just researched this and apparently the Government were aware that Inuit sled dogs were being killed and it was affecting the livelihood of the Inuit people, but they allowed it to continue. Elders today still feel the grief of what happened to their dogs back then. Very, very sad story. I think it‘s honourable that Canada has decided to make reparations, it reminds me that there are so many of us in this country who care. 🇨🇦 🪶
