idk if you still go to SAIC, but i am planning upon going there and I have a ton of questions 😭 in case you somehow read this I am BEGGING that u answer these PLZ - do you have to take math classes if you’re a studio/fine arts major there? like, HAVE to? - do you think saic is worth it? - is navigating the campus hard?? idk how big the campus is like at all feel free to ignore this but thank you for your time!!! love this vlog a lot

Hey! I still go here! I'll graduate May 2025. - No there are no mandatory math classes. Our academic course are Liberal Arts, Art History, Social Science, and Natural Science. - Is SAIC worth it... well yes and no. Its pretty complicated, maybe I can make a video on it this May. - Navigating campus is easy! The buildings are very close together and there aren't too many. Campus is maybe 3-5 city blocks large. Thank's for watching, If I do a larger Q&A video at some point, I'll speak on these and other questions more in depth.

WAIT HOW IS THE CHINESE COURSE BECAUSE I WAS THINKING OF TAKING THAT BUT I CANT FIND INFO ON THE PROF? (SORRY I CAN’T TURN OFF MY CAPS LOCK RN 😭)
@chimyshimmy4 ай бұрын
The Chinese course is good but it’s super easy, I’m in Chinese 2 now and it’s still pretty simple, it’s good for starting out but if you already know a decent amount of Chinese (like me) you may want to seek some other higher level education for it. I think after graduation I’ll take Chinese courses somewhere else.

Hey! I was wondering if you had any advice on getting into art school? I'm taking AP Art now, but I was wondering if you knew of any scholarships I should look into? (I really want to get into SAIC or MICA)

Hi!! I have just a couple of tips maybe! I actually didn’t take any traditional art classes in highschool, I only took a couple college courses my 11th grade year over the summer for no credit to try out some new mediums. Over that summer I took a game design course at DigiPen University and took a ceramics course at a local pottery studio. Earlier years in highschool over summers I also took a class at Moore Arts for web design and took a course with the WHYY for video production. These are things I have on my resume and can list as schools I attended. But for the most part, besides ceramics, none of that work really went into my portfolio. Really they helped myself (and show SAIC) that I’ve had interest in disciplinary art practices. I crafted my portfolio specifically for SAIC my 11th grade into my senior year. And I think I talk about it in my Accepted Portfolio video but I also went to a career school in highschool where I studied Video Technology so I think that course made me look really good! For SAIC specifically, the admissions team looks for a diverse portfolio showing different mediums and a consistent voice. So when you’re curating your portfolio, show a lot of different mediums following a cohesive theme. I also highly recommend for ANY school that you stay in communication with Admissions. By touring the schools, emailing, viewing the website, and attending events like National Portfolio Day or online seminars- The admissions team or your counselor will know your name and be more likely to accept you when they see your application. And I know this because I was super engaged with Admissions and I work in admissions right now! At SAIC specifically, the better your admissions counselor knows you, the more likely you are to get chosen for higher scholarship amounts. The most laborious part but really powerful, is really catering your portfolio and artist statements/essays to match the schools you apply to. I wouldn’t turn in the same portfolio to SAIC, MICA, and RISD. While it will take more time and work, in the long run it will help your acceptance more if your application is tailored to each school. I hope this helped!! Maybe I’ll make a full video on just tips one day. Thanks for watching!

your saic vlogs really push me to want to actually try applying there TT its been a school I've wanted to go to for awhile but idkkk

It will not hurt to apply!!! I really recommend going and touring the school and finding as many people on KZbin as possible! Other SAIC KZbinrs I watched were Iyomi and a smiling seoul. It will be good to see all the different departments at the school, I mainly focus in Art & Tech/Sculpture so my videos are a little limited.
