The Rebecca Clow sweater is actually a contiguous construction which is why is looks more like a drop shoulder than a raglan would.

Great video and perfect timing... It literally started to rain today here in Central Europe. On top of that, I've been feeling melancholic/romantic lately - in mood for fall. Such a great resource for autumn inspiration ❤thank you

Suggestion, take it or leave it: set aside intentional time to spin! Whether its 10 minutes a day or 30 minutes a week, making routine will increase your productivity tremendously (im reading into the comment about yhe e-spinner so I apologize if im wrong in that youd like to spin faster). Im exclusively a drop spindle spinner and its amazing what can be spun up with a regular routine!
@sarahs.handmakes
@sarahs.handmakes Күн бұрын
That’s a great idea! I really need to prioritize spinning more and know I can do a lot with the drop spindle. I think part of my problem too is that it’s harder on my body than an e-spinner would be. But I should use the drop spindle more!

I really want to make a soul sister scarf too (my autocorrect changed this to I want to make soup, which is true as well but whatever 😂). Yours looks beautiful! Hope your weekend in the mountains was relaxing and cozy, very much looking forward to how your moonset tee will come along ☺️

I found my first sample knit through instagram! I follow a lot of yarn dyers on instagram and just watch for sample knit calls that are released often before a new collection comes out. Then, there’s usually an application form really similar to a test knitting application. To prepare to start sample knitting, I recommend you take on some test knits first to show you’re capable of meeting a knitting deadline and just kind of be your first “experience”. Once you get one sample knit, you usually will get more! I also now have developed relationships with a few dyers and they’ll reach out to me directly for sample knits which is wonderful. I’ve also a few times just cold reached out to a dyer if I haven’t heard back from a sample call to see if they are still looking for sample knitters and usually get a response from that. I’m happy to film a video all about sample knitting if that would be interesting 😊

I’m making the Moonset Tee as well and I also had to go down to a 3mm size needle 😂 I’m making mine out of Holst Garn Coast in the color River. It’s like a dark blue and so fun so far. Can’t wait to see yours!

Oh how fun! How are you enjoying it? I just finished the short rows on the back and I’m enjoying it but ready for joining in the round even though I’m really far off from that 😂 I wonder how many people can knit at the recommended needle size
@MidwestGrace
@MidwestGrace 8 күн бұрын
@@sarahs.handmakes I’m enjoying it so far, but it’s definitely a new to me type of construction! I’ve almost done with the right front and then I think I get to join in the round? It’s definitely a trust the pattern and not my instinct thing for me but it’s so fun!

That feeling when you discover an interesting new pattern only to find out it doesn’t, your size please consider only promoting size inclusive patterns. One of the patterns you recommend literally only comes in small. Most knitters on KZbin are on board with the belief that patterns should be sized inclusive. Join them.
@sarahs.handmakes
@sarahs.handmakes 12 күн бұрын
Thank you for commenting. I totally understand the frustration with size non-inclusive patterns. Since this video, I’ve taken a lot of steps to promote more size inclusivity in my pattern round ups and my own knitting. Often it’s hard to find size inclusive patterns, especially when they’re free and not as much effort has gone into creating the pattern or when I am searching for a very specific style, as I do in a lot of my round ups. But I do want to ensure that the majority of the time, I’m featuring patterns that all of my audience can knit and I appreciate you taking the time to request that from me.

Love the colour combo for the stripey jumper. Actually, there's a knitting channel called A Hundred Acre Wool. It's certainly a very whimsical name 😊 Edited to add that I'm a patron for Laura Penrose and she has said that she is planning on trying to get the jumper after she finishes with the Maxine one. I'm also waiting for it so I hope she gets it sorted this winter.
