The 'Silenced Pistol' is actually an anachronistic High Standard Victor. The developers likely confused the Victor with the HDM, which is what it is meant to be.

LKW gave me nightmares when i was a little kid. I played this long ago, and I found one while on the moon. I used it to kill a soldier, and he blew up into pieces.

This area as well as the music terrified me as a young child and I would get constant nightmares of this place. It got so bad, to where I never got passed this area of the game because I was too damn scared lol.
