With the side flashing and the endwall flashing on top of it, what is the required height allowance to install this roof system either from the top of the ribs or from whatever deck system is used whether purlin or osb? The flashing height requirements is what I cannot find. I have a VERY tight fit with a porch roof design under transom windows and need to know what I can work with. This would be a traditional finish (no counterflash or reglet), so I just care what happens with the height requirements on the endwall to do the flashing.

What is your opinion about foam closures ??

i want to see this process done with existing vertical steel wall. i have plans on doing an addition on my current 40x40x14 garage and would love to see the process. there isnt very many, if any videos of doing this install on vertical metal correctly.

Why didnt you double caulk, end wall flashing and then caulk the counter flashing,one will eventually fail.

How wide is the ridge ventilation space between the plywood?

What tool do you recommend for hemming the edges?

I need to butt two roofs together adding a valley underlayment of a 20' (creased) piece. I'm installing a carport under the lip of my Butler garage down to my other garage roof. Otherwise I need to raise carport roof above lower roof allowing water to then drain onto garage roof to be collected by the gutter and removed. Butting them seem to be better to me and allowing the Valley piece to allow water to flow towards back of garage. I'll be re-roofing the garage with metal as well. Will this be ok?

I love these videos, thanks for putting them out. My question: Do the screws holding the z channel cause distortion in the panels? I've always heard that standing seam roofs are superior because they are fastened with clips to allow the steel to expand and contract independently of the wood structure. Thanks again.

Awesome videos! Does anybody know how to build a roof with a hemmed rack and endwall flashing? I'm not seeing a clean way to integrate the two.

Beware instructions that tell you to pay attention to the tape measure rather than where there is decking for the screws to bite into. But the graphics are nice.

I assume the screws need to go into wood on the other side of hte metal. Ie plywoood and not purlins. How do you secure it is the roof is sitting on purlins?

Hey Great Video! I was wondering if the standing seam metal has to be perfectly flush around the sides and bottom of the chimney? It seems to me that 28 seconds, as long as the z - trim can be installed on the metal, then it is ok if there isn't metal all the way to the chimney because it will be covered and waterproofed by the flashing. Am I correct in thinking this?

Side of the roof that the panels started from work out nicely but often the opposite side doesn't have a flat section of the corrugation in the right place to seat the rake. What do you do then?

How about a little help figuring out how to make those cuts? Especially the triangular one at the peak.

Kick out bend-- please show how for siding.

All looks good with the video except for bending of a lengthy rake edge. I am proposing to make 1 inch cuts every18 inches along the rake to allow a sequence of18 inch bends (assuming 18 inch bending tool). Maybe make 1/8 inch hole punches to end each cut. Replies welcome.

so what is the last panel holding on to?.. are there any screws holding it?

What if the sidewall flashing's doesn't end up on a flat bottom part of the panel where the butyl tape is, like what if it is partially on a hump? I realize that one would try to start the panel against the wall to make it work out properly but that might not always be possible, like if you are going between two sidewalls.

How do you finish off the top of the valley? it seems to me the way the trim is left in the video that water will get in between at the gap at the ridge. There are no videos showing how a ridge cap would finish that off.

so I have a commercial metal roof and the previous owner added on and the profile is different so i get leaks. they overlayed it about 6 feet but water still comes in. Can you help me please!?!?!?!?

I too love these videos. This one has a potential problem, though, where the two valleys meet at the top. It is shown with a small gap between the valley panels. Is there a way to join the two valleys elegantly?
