Hmmm…wonder why they never let Tracy handle the cases himself, instead of having these sidekicks tackle the crooks, since he was the title character?

First of all , I mean NO disrespect to anyone with what I have to say . I believe it was a Conspiracy to have Conneaut Lake Park removed ! . Look at all the property that surrounds the Park . Then ask yourself Why ? Would you let Todd Joseph walk right in and literally destroy the Park , and all the memories that each and everyone of us cherish of the Park ? It makes no sense to me at all . The people that dedicated their lives and hard earned money to the park , And all the Fan's that enjoyed the Park for what it was . We understood things were worn out and a little dirty . But that was what we looked forward too. I admit , My heart will always be broken because of this ignorance and planned failure . So when Mr. Joseph places his Condominiums there . I am sure all of you will enjoy counting your money and NOT your Blessings ! Thank You for reading my thoughts , and may God Bless all of Us . I sure do miss this Park !

Richard Tracy. And Tracy, is misspelled. That Tracy, is the forename spelling, and 'Tracey', would be the surname. I took British descent class, 101 (not really)😏…………

In this case, dick is actually a slang term for detective. So his name literally means "Detective Tracy".

Visited Pittsburgh for 1st time last month and love the city... I just felt at home unlike anywhere else I've visited. Maybe it's all the saints connected to St Anthony's chapel? They're my family in Pittsburgh! Love the PCC streetcars... represents best times for life in Canada and US. We all have the PCC to remember so fondly! Greetings from Toronto Canada!

The iconic architecture (or sculpture) that is associated with that Fair is The Trylon and Perisphere. A very large round ball or spherical shaped form and a tall narrow 3 sided pyramid. It was replicated into salt and pepper shakers, bookends, table top decor, and embossed into leather book jackets.

Hey,..really great footage! I happen to have collected some (antique) memorabilia, from that Worlds Fair. I collect salt and pepper shakers, many with architectural themes, from World Fairs and other significant monumental structures, like The Empire State Building. And I found a wonderful souvenir booklet, filled with photos, from that Fair.

It's wonderful to see these colorful scenes, with relaxed and happy fair-goers. But it's also distressing to know that just four months after the opening of the 1939 World's Fair in New York, World War II began. According to Wikipedia, some of the pavilions represented countries that had been invaded by the Axis powers, and were closed.

16mm Kodachrome movie film had just been introduced by Kodak. This was the same filmstock used to create Viewmaster reels, which also appeared that year. Suddenly color film was available to the masses, and the World's Fair was a great subject. We're fortunate that this footage has been preserved - acetate film stock is not a permanent medium.

The unifying theme of the 1939 fair was "The World of Tomorrow", with the slogan "Dawn of a New Day". This made some sense, given that the world was only beginning to emerge from the depths of the Great Depression - which wouldn't entirely ease until the end of WWII.

Not widely seen these days due to the terrible stereotypes of Asians and Latins. Plus, how come Dick Tracy himself is barely in his own show?
@bunnybird9342Ай бұрын
I did see a blog post written by somebody who claimed that he met people involved with the show's production and that they said they had no clue what they were doing and that even then they still had no clue what they were doing. I have also seen some people speculating that it was probably meant to be a generic cop cartoon at first but Dick Tracy was added last second so that it could sell better. What is interesting, however, is that the reason why all of the episodes open with "okay chief I'll get on it right away" is because there were originally live-action kids shows hosts who would dress up as policemen and then pretend to call Dick Tracy and then it would look like he was calling them back. Unfortunately, these live-action segments are now lost media.

Learned to drive, weaving around those tracks! Remember the trolley driver had to get out and reach up and put the electrical arm back on the cable when it jumped off. The way I remember it it only happened occasionally, but the first time it happened to me I thought "what the heck happened"?
