The video was very helpful for installing the speakers. However, after the installation, my car battery was completely drained. I got it jumped, but now the power windows are no longer functioning. Any suggestions on what to check next?

Perfect video. My E81 ( 2 doors version from the E87 ) have only a 2-way speaker in the door. So it must be a bit easier when I replace it for a pro 2-way kit. Thanks for the video 😇👍

Unfortunately not. We discontinued the kits a while back. There are just not enough people looking for E53 speakers these days. And the minimum production quantity needed does not justify the cost of us housing the unique speakers for those vehicles. It is just economics, not because we don't like the E53!

For the cost of this kit and the knowledge of BMW plastic housing always being broken we should be getting machine metal housing with the speakers already attached.

Hi Brandon, I'll gladly tell you why this is not the case. In the ideal world we would do what you suggest. We do believe the cost for this kit is fair. If you want machine metal housing we could not sell these at the current cost. These speakers are made uniquely for E36's. It is a niche product for a declining number of vehicles. There is just not the sales volume out there for us to generate the revenue to buy produce enough quantities to justify the added cost of machine metal housing. After 25 years of doing this we believe we hit the sweet spot between offering a high end product, offering a unique and convenient plug and play solution for our customers at a price point that is well within the range of fairness.

Just installed my Stage 1 on a 2020 i3. I completely argee with @JayCoutrure3D...fricken speaker plug took longer to unplug than to install the new speaker and reinstall the door panel. That said, your speakers are outstanding!

We would definitely have to disagree on that one. From our experience silk dome tweeters reproduce sound in the most natural way possible and our midranges made of kevlar weave will give you way more clarity. Paper is not bad but won't operate as well on a wider frequency range.

For PnP, kevlar might be best due to the configuration making the 4” driver play a wider range For a custom setup with a separate channel to each driver and something like a DSP, paper would be close to ideal due to the bandpass filter among other things. This further improves off-axis position consistency for more than 1 listening position. It also reduces any needless spikes or dips in frequency responses due to different materials outside of their sweetest range

Paper cone have internal dampening, i always prefer paper cones midrange and silk dome tweeters over anything else

so, we the audience / The Customer do not get to see the full 360 degree of the thing that you call a sub ? i want to see the full scope all the way around the cup to get to the handle. that is how you get the correct views. and when testing it, have a plastic bag on both ends so that we can see the sub work it. lol

My midrange speakers didn’t come with the adapter harness to plug in to car harness. And the tweeters don’t fit in the original housing. There’s nothing to hold the tweeter into the housing. Actually really disappointed considering the cost of the whole kit

You will still definitely hear the difference! The frequency range will be wider, your music will sound more natural and the speakers are designed to maximize the performance of your factory amp.
