I remember drilling with a LE303 back at HMS Ganges in 1969, they were bigger than us with the bayonet was fitted, really heavy as some kind person had filled the barrels with lead !. Soon swapped over to 762 SLR's, wooden stocks with a little pocket on the end of the stock for cleaning kit, later for live shooting we got the ones with plastic stocks, thought it was something to do with the weight, never knew about the gas thing as we didn't get to keep ours when doing gas drills, plus as we were 15 we all had spotty faces anyway !. On the ranges with several magazines of 20 rounds each was ...... interesting to say the least. Wasn't much fun being a seagull flying past !!

The Sniper 303 Enfield variation once proved to be over average in accuracy had all of the major components stamped with a unique id no for that rifle Proving its provenonce!. I owned and used a No.4, still had its original oil bottle, oil spoon and pull through in the butt. With patience, my dear old Dad taught me to hit a target at about 900 to a thousand yards. Used it for goat, ferral dog and ferral pig hunting ( not quite at the previously mentioned distances) here in Australia. You hit somethimg with that rifle, it stayed hit!. 😂. Found ex surplas army ammo circa 1950's more reliable and accurate than newer more expensive stuff!. Great rifle. Great informative clip!. On ya!. Maddog Melbourne. 🍺

It seems more reliable than when new... As the aux motor has been removed, there is so much room in just the right area. Not so with the T-55 my brother and I have here in Finland. I should replace the transmission oil with correct one, SAE 60W engine oil, as they seem to have filled it in Poland with multigrade GL-4 transmission oil. That would eventually ruin the gearbox being too thin, and too slippery for the synchro system. I also must adjust the main clutch, which is a pain in the A if not pre-adjusted correctly when still not in place... Or, as it is multi plate dry one, someone has burned it enough that it does not disconnect fully no matter what. Pity, as the tank has only 46 kms on it, everything being new from 1995. The problem is, that everything can be seen down there, but... So it seems that the right crew meant for Soviet tanks is four chimpanzees, as they are stronger than humans, are short, and have four hands ,two of them being long enough...

There’s certainly a difference in British tanks and Russian tanks, we have numerous t-55/4s and yes your description is very accurate, agricultural is my take on them 😂

this makes me think Ronnie Corbet should have had a dog on his lap, it would easily explain why he took so long to tell a story having Biscuit is a bonus, coz i seem to be more focused on him than i am on Nick and his story (what a beast) Biscuit i mean now what was Nick going on about
