Good morning, I'm from Turin, the city where Amati is based and where this kit is produced, I also had the opportunity to talk to one of the guys who worked on the packaging of these kits. At the moment I know that they are renewing the kit, this guy told me that the new version could have the second laser-cut plating and the photo-etched parts already included in the box, we are not sure but maybe the bulkheads will also be corrected. I bought the kit a few years ago, it is still waiting to be assembled, I was able to download some tamplates online to correct the bow defect but I don't know if I can trust myself to use them, if I can I will order when the renewed model comes out only the correct parts I need . Your model turned out really well, the correction you made on the bow is one of the best I've seen, could I know more about how you made it and which tameplates did you base it on?

I used the templates you download. I added thin layers of planking strips to the edges of the bulkheads until they roughly matched the templates. I then kept adding and sanding strips and used line of site to see how they fitted. Took a while but I think it came out fine. You could see some photos of how I did it on my Facebook page. If Amati are releasing an updated version with all those added parts of would certainly be worth waiting for. Depending on how long they take to release it.

@@tcoteofThanks so much for the reply, they say the new Amati model should be released around Christmas, hoping they actually make all the necessary changes. Thanks so much for the advice, I really appreciate it, you created a great model. However, you have made me more confident on the tamplates I found online and on the techniques to use to best correct the shape of the bulkheads, in any case I will wait for the release of the new model to check if and how the defect will be corrected and decide which definitive shape to give to the bulkheads

@@EnricoAntonioCrivello Your welcome and thanks for the kind comments. Good luck with buying what could be a much better kit. If they keep the coloured card for the windows and doors that can be replaced with photo etch from Mini Brass in France. I replaced all the card with photo etch.

I've got the Hood and thinking of buying Bismark because of the history of the two.probably build them out of the box. Unless I can get hold of the Aftermarket kits.

I bought the mini brass domes they are beautiful. 1/200 and minibrass is bloody expensive

Yes they are a It nicer than the coloured card. It is expensive if buying the lot.

I just bought this, am I sorry now or what? It is not a museum quality kit with all these faults. I have built the Amati 1/200 kit found it had many faults also.

Good point and true. But take care of the various faults and it builds into a very nice model. Especially if you add the Mini Brass photo etch.
