No I don't think I want a venomous snake because I realize it would bite me and I would die . I enjoy watching professional handlers show us venomous snakes they are interesting and some are quite beautiful ❤️

Those little long-tailed grass lizards they used to sell at chain pet stores will use their forearms in hunting. I kept them (incorrectly) as a little kid and I used to love watching them pin down a cricket with their front legs and eat it in pieces like a little monitor. They are a super cool species, I'm glad they aren't being mass-imported from the wild and hawked for cheap anymore. Reptiles all deserve better. The Crutchfields helped me realize that, and I've been keeping these animals all my life - I just didn't quite get it.

I knew a few buddies who kept buying notable venomous species; they wold do bassically everything you say not to and I didnt like being around them because of that xD. one of them kept pulling out a juvenile gaboon and hadeling it without a hook and I just had to leave his place cause I didnt want to watch him get nailed.

I believe the Gabon viper takes the crown of yielding the most venom per bite, followed by the Eastern diamondback and the king cobra. The Mangshan perhaps comes close to the king? Besides, in one occasion a forest cobra also yielded almost a 1000mg of wet venom (but it's electrified).

Here is a silly question. Could you drink the venom of a snake?

My first venomous oh man she's almost got me a dozen times and I'm super careful not to piss it off. The fangs don't scare me as much as the venom it spits. Been married to her 5 years......hehehe

I think snakes are beautiful creatures but I don't want one as a pet, let alone one that can end me.

I don't want ANY snake. They belong in the wild or in a zoo.

I’ve worked on the swamps of south east tx for years. The only snake that has ever chased me has been cottons. I’ve had a few not get crazy with me, but man, they have straight up chased my buggy down striking the air.

Damn right. I threw a couple of rocks at a cottonmouth years ago in the Brazos river in South Texas. It hissed, swam as fast as it could and came up on the bank at me. I took off. They have nasty attitudes. Will never forget that.

Venomous snakes should only be owned by those who are professionals. Venomous snakes are like land mines...People should just leave them alone completely. I love snakes, but I am smart enough not to harass them or pick them up. Snakes want to be left alone.

I would get a Cobra at max! A false water cobra that is ^^

Great, common sense advice. I agree with his assessment of the Cottonmouths, they are very happy to leave you alone, if you leave them alone. I wonder what kind of shelf life these anti venoms have?

Anti venom should be a must for anyone handling hots. Excellent advice. I will not own any reptile. I own greyhounds and I do have a budget for my vet and dental bills for my animals. Even my vehicle and fenced back yard is part of this game. Anyome who owns any animal should be finniacially responsible for their pet!😊

No wonder your mangshan's so chill. You provided Him a bigger home. Even though snakes don't move much, a bigger room let's him move thus keeping him more enthusiastic and not feeling cornered
