Kink in the cable?

Doesn’t have a cable, it’s all electronic. I am starting to think it may be losing connection somewhere. There’s 3 junctions where it may not be making a full connection I’ll probably check next.

I was wondering can you swap a 69 front end on a 68
@ogresspeedshop
@ogresspeedshop 4 күн бұрын
@@gunsandhorsepower Never done it, but I’m sure it’s possible. I just don’t know what all it would take besides the 69 parts. Subframe is the same on all of them so I would imagine it wouldn’t be too hard to do.

@ogresspeedshop I heard you can put a 69 camaro on it basically the same so I would think you could I was just wondering because I love the look of the 69, but I can find a 68 for about 5 to 6k cheeper
@ogresspeedshop
@ogresspeedshop 4 күн бұрын
Here’s what you need to consider.. is it cheaper to buy the 68 and then buy all the 69 parts or is it just cheaper “time and money” to just spend the extra just buying a 69. I haven’t priced anything for awhile so I don’t know what the difference would be. The other thing you need to realize is the 69 is wider in the back too. So will the 69 parts look right with the 68 quarters.. I’m actually curious, if that’s the route you go, how it’ll turn out. Keep me updated if you can.

@ogresspeedshop I was just considering the front. I don't mine the different rear end but I looked and a 69 was like 18 to 22k and found a 68 roller for 6k and probably can get evening thing for the front for around 2,100 or a little more

I'm having a similar problem with mine, I noticed that my primer bulb is cracked I assume that is the cause of my problem, but I want to thank those folks who brought up the clogged fuel cap vent because I believe that is something many folks skip over and is very important.

Hi sir, thanks for the detail; I'm in the process of organizing and separating my hardware bins...too many apprentice compartments with miscellaneous being their favorite system. Personally I don't look for hardware or tools. If I don't find something where I expect it, my self-discipline way is to go without it - the tool or the part - for an hour. The next thing I can't find I go without for the day, and then I can look for it after hours or have found it or didn't really need it, obviously. I'm an electrician and so I wind up with a lot of machine screws, random hardware from devices that include provisions for install. I've never seen BOLTS on equipment in your millimetrics, BUT they are still essential sizes for boring and tapping kits, whereby the lugs we use depends on the gauge wire we use and yadda yadda we do a lot of tapping copper or aluminum into steel. So one needs all the box-ends for this kinda work, not least because it's all custom, and impacts with socket sets do to fabrications what keys do to paint-nothing good. Wrenches are calipers, too. :) They're the tools you build tools outtakes.:) Thanks again, Johnny J-Manned

Antifreeze vapors can set off your freon sniffer and so can your breath
@ogresspeedshop
@ogresspeedshop 7 күн бұрын
I don’t have a Freon sniffer. When I drove one day a decent distance, I started getting a bad headache on the drive, it was about 200 miles.. and I smelled something, which I thought smelled like Freon. Which is why I tore into the whole system. Plus I’ve been loosing the charge over time. I’ve checked everything for leaks, although I couldn’t see all of the condenser. Which will be what I’ll pull out next to check it. Been chasing the issue for almost 3 years now off and on, just when I think it’s fixed, it loses its charge. On the third compressor now, first one was leaking out of the shaft seal. The 2nd one just stopped working, this one works as long as it keeps its charge, but the charge only last about a week if that now. Changed everything now except the condenser. Not Easter egging either, just replacing the things I found that were bad, well, until I got to the evap core.

First off, they didn't line up great when new. 60s cars had terrible alignment. But you can use wood or a bl9ck at the top and try to push in on the bottom with something like a jack. Or hook a chain at the bottom and try pulling out at the top. I've had to cut some panels and weld to get perfect alignment.

The paint, that car is worth less than this repair.
@ogresspeedshop
@ogresspeedshop 8 күн бұрын
It’s just pealed clear coat and it’s dirty, since I live in the country. I own the car, the evap core was only $55, it runs and drives, so how is $55 more than the cost of the car… oh yeah, I’ve got nothing but time since I’m retired and I don’t mind doing the work.. so as far as labor is concerned, it’s free.. so it’s a $55 repair in the end.

What was the torque spec on those water pump bolts???
@ogresspeedshop
@ogresspeedshop 9 күн бұрын
I never found an exact answer to that. I torqued them to what the standard is by the size of the bolt. I did 15lb ft for the bolts and 10 for the nuts. Haven’t had any issues since the install.
