I retired from the Navy reserve after 26 years and I remember when I got my letter. I used to keep a copy on me and pull it out from time to time to remind my boss to not make me mad😂. So I started receiving my retired pay and Tricare a couple of years ago. I never thought I would live to see it or something would change. IT IS REAL FOLKS, THE BENEFITS ARE NOT A MYTH! STICK WITH IT!

DEI "Didn't Earn It" has led to women and minorities often having it easier than caucasian males because of historical grievances or injustices. For example, its much easier for an African American woman to get an OTS slot with a lower gpa than a caucasian man and promotions are clearly race based at times. You got a great channel here Hugo and hopefully you can get that early retirement. I feel u deserve it having been laid off multiple times. The woke policies of the last administration have to be reversed as race and gender quotas are driving people nuts. Your channel has done a ton of good and is an inspiration to many!

My experience, unfortunately, with "DEI" in the military has been that 1. It has been poorly implemented into every briefing, class, etc. even when not necessary to the subject. 2. Has affected retainability, many people don't like how they feel like it is being shoved down their throats and not reenlisting as a result among other things. (luckily in mechanical career fields its not too bad) and 3. That it done more harm than good and creates victim mentalities and awards certain people things they otherwise shouldn't get. The military has always been "the great equalizer" historically, and i don't really view these policies as necessary. It's too bad you lost your job, and I believe you were surely one of the best people in your position. I had an experience in a certain briefing where I was told directly by the instructor that I couldn't legitimately hold the view i did about the subject due to my race and gender. That, to me, is the opposite of what DEI was created for, but seems to be the result.

My preference was to have constructive conversations. I enjoyed my time in the program and am looking forward to the unknown future. I have a few options but am hoping on retiring immediately from the work force. Hopefully this situation gets me there in the near future.

Thanks to "DEI" initiatives, you will likely have a problem getting a new job simply because of your race, gender, and age. It doesn't matter how good you are in your field, you will almost certainly experience discrimination because of the last four years of DEI. Think about that and let it sink in.

@ I’m sorry to hear you and others lost your job. That’s never a good thing. Did that financial education job turn into the Diversity, Equity, and inclusion position? If true that lines up with my theory that DEI appeared in our lexicon soon after Occupy Wall Street as a distraction as they kicked the can down the road. My feeling is that TRUE financial education makes DEI null and void. You want to lift people out of poverty and create a more level playing field let’s see True financial education. Especially in our school system Pre-School through Senior Year of high school hour a day 5 days a week. Not just “balancing a check book” I mean saving, investing, spending, economics, central banks, government spending, cryptocurrency, career, student loans, car loans, groceries etc. etc. .. Unfortunately they will never do that as the powers that be don’t want the populace to be truly educated on things that actually matter or things that will TRULY change their lives and their family tree.

So. My son will be using my post 9-11 gi bill shortly (he graduates in a few months). He will be living with me for a few years while using the GI bill. My BAH is paying for our housing. Will he still be able to receive his housing allowance and save it? Does he have to live on his own to receive it?

What happens if an adult child was given the GI bill benefits, but finds out the monthly stipend was not being given to her and was going into an account she doesn’t have access to? Outside of the GI Bill covering school costs, no other financial assistance from parent was given for any other fees/expenses/ necessities.

you said you got 4 years left, you mean.. you're teaching in the reserves after you did active? There's no reason to work anymore after I reach the 20 years of service right? there's enough finances for 1 man at the end of the tunnel for military retirement funds and if I save my military money.. right? My dream is to live it easy until I die, I know so many ppl who work with me in my minimum wage job's that are in there late 50's and 60's and some have back issues. That's such a unfortunate and intimidating future.. I'm trying to avoid that completely if possible like.. last time I commented, my weight was 30 pounds more.. I got 30 more to go, and I'm getting better at the math studies I've lost in highschool 6 years ago.

Hey brother I can relate 110% a lot of people view me as high speed and intense , serious. Which is true to a good extent however Sam time people’s judgement are something I cannot control, I’m in my late 20s joined bit late. It’s difficult to try to relate to a 18 -21 year old who’s priority are to do dumb shit. I cant relate. Priorities are different + family. Like you said a balance. Over the years I’ve learned to incorporate that. I also do plan doing the full 20 as well.

Hello! I have a question about AGR? transitioning from active duty to active guard reserve...would I be able to be moved to the base back home (California)? do we qualify for base housing as AGR still? Thank you...that is what has been keeping me up at night! lol
@yourmilitarymoney
@yourmilitarymoney 2 ай бұрын
Speak with the in-service recruiter at your base about going from active duty straight into an AGR position. Usually that does not happen which is why the in-service recruiter will know for sure. You’ll also have to see if your base has slots open that correlate with your job and pay grade. Once you’re an AGR, yes you qualify for base housing as long as there is availability. Research will ease the unknown. Begin there and see what you find out.

@@yourmilitarymoney The saying “do what you should, not what you can” is how most go about life. What’s paramount to success is doing what you CAN. Not what you should. Your rhetoric guides individuals to do what they CAN. That’s why you’re motivational, beyond approachable. Sadly KZbins algorithm won’t put you out there; because of your channel name. I hope you consider my recommendation on changing your channel name. Maybe “YOU’RE MONEY.” Your content is applicable to all people civilian and military.

@clarissa.avenue
@clarissa.avenue 3 ай бұрын
Having a father figure in your life doesn't always mean that you know how to do "manly" things like knowing how to build a shed (example). I think all fathers have something they bring to the table and it is all different. You are my father and you showed me finances - I have friends who never learned what you taught me. I guess you could say, in a way, that is is "manly" but I also believe that building things, managing finances, or cooking (etc) has no gender role. It just depends on who does what. Sean grew up with his father and isn't handy. I think where we come from, who you were raised by, what you were exposed to, shapes who you are as a person. We are all "missing" something but isn't everyone? We all have experiences that we share and don't share but that is where we can learn from one another. It doesn't make you less "manly" or "womanly" when you don't know something that you would think falls into a stereotypical gender role.

Man, your life seems so similar to mine, I want to be a teacher or some type of sports manager. I have 13.5 years in AD Af, I got denied my reenlistment, but I am trying to go to the DRD board and get my reentry code changed so I can go into the reserves, then do a DD 368 and get released back into active duty. if i do a DD368 i hope to get regain back at the base i would be serving in, other than getting orders and having to move

Good talk. I got the "double whammy" on this subject when i dated a GF that i now believe has borderline dissorder, if you look up the dissorder, its complex but said simply they lack "their self", aka they are a "black hole". So, they slowly but surely suck their partners identity and emotional energy (like vampires), and after drained, they will leave you as a hollow version of your self (you will lose your self identity). 😬 But then again, i can see from your talk, your not dealing with the extreme i'm talking about.
