👏 nice job. She seems nice and relaxed when you grab her paws.

I find it funny that, what appears to be just regular dog food, becomes a training treat… so long as their human feeds it to them hahaha 😂

Wow. U R a great trainer. Makes one wonder why a 200 yr breed is just now being used for sledding, police, search n rescue, etc. I wish I was still young enough to handle the GSP's. GSPs are the best. And you are great with them.

She wouldn’t tolerate it well. Plus it’s more ✨accurate ✨ Toothless’ tail doesn’t stand up like a dog’s 😂

Could definetely befifet from a learned search pattern, lower threshold and needs so work in building drive and lowering distraction issues. Has potential!

Thanks for this feedback! I know we have lots to improve on, this is the first dogs sport we have done. I have taken 3 classes with the Fenzi academy. Drive is an issue, she likes to just wander until she hits odor 😅 Can I ask what you mean by her ‘threshold’?
@legacyntd Жыл бұрын
here's one of Ellie my pet quality dog that I trained as a detector dog for fun. You can see how quick she picks up odor. I don't get to show search pattern I just let her kind of run but I started her down wind...I have tutorials on just wind. When on an active bomb threat wind is a BIG factor! A bomb dog is built much different than a drug dog. Their threshold for orienting and final response is much lower. They don't go to source....for safety. In a drug search you want to get in and get out so threshold for orienting response low, but threshold for final response high as we want them right on the money. Drug dogs move faster than bomb dogs as well....again for safety. I combined some of the search tactics for Ellie. kzbin.info/www/bejne/q57Wc6OnrdSImpYsi=zvWJgWBv4lzcH5BT@@just.agirl.and.herdogs

Conngrats. As an actual drog and bomb dog trainer (retired) there are several places the dog could be trained to work faster and with more intensity. She walked by odor quite often and should have hit those from much further away. Her threshold appeared to be too high and her ability to work to source is slow. I'm putting out a series of videos on how to read and work scenarios like an actual detector dog so that you can shave off an immense amount of time as I believe that is how placement is effective. The dog has talent! Good job!
