Also, quick tip for making that HUD projector look real: use a piece of iridescent confetti found at party supply stores and there should be a clear piece that fits in there. Did you carefully check the clear part sprue? Paint the cockpit and instrument panel housing *before* you add the improvements to the HUD projector, if no clear piece, use some Future floor polish or Mod Podge, it dries very clear.

It's a pretty decent kit, the only fairly affordable 1/48 scale Hornet next to the just okay offering from Testors. The Hasegawa kit was considered very expensive back in the 80s when it came out with a price tag of $36 but it was also quite accurate, but that price tag put it out of the reach of most modelers back in the day. The thing I could not stand about the Testors offering was the soft details, the shallow wheel wells, two deep ejector pin marks right on the instrument panel, ruining it (what were they thinking?!) and the main landing gear was split down the middle and when put together was kind of flat looking. 30 years ago when I tried to build that F-18 kit I had no idea what aftermarket replacement parts were back then, so the kit lingered in the pile and until I pawned it off on someone else, the Monogram/Revell Hornet was a step above, happy modeling!

They're kind of cool it's cool that the doors open up and it's cool that you could see like the lights on it on the back of it and that it has lights in the front of it that you know the glass or whatever you want to call it but it's pretty cool looking but you're not really getting to customization it's really just the stuff that they want you to customize

I was one of the few 68J's out there with 1/1, ( I was from the AVIM and EXTREMELY happy to be away from it! ) Spent a number of years working on those birds with y'all.. mostly getting the hell away from Hanau and haulin' ass down the autobahn to Budigen, ( spelling?? ) but also working on them the whole time y'all were deployed.. first to Hungary, then Croatia and finally over the ZOS at that big field in Bosnia, ( it was nice being aways down the road from Squadron, too. ) I really miss those days!

This is great work. The scratch-built cables going into the back of the instrument panels is what I've thought about doing myself. You made so many adjustments to this that it's very impressive. I like the blue stripes.

I think the resin nose was probably a good call, since it probably would've been split down the middle in plastic and that intake looks like it would be a PITA to clean up in that case. Shame about the lumpy fuselage, looks like I'll have a bit coming up when mine arrives.

great model -really enjoyed building it , goes with my F-14 Jolly Rogers ! ( love the way the glass pops into the canopy frame......no masking !! ) I now have 8 Chibi airforce . ( see channel .)

For the Polish bomber, you could try vac-forming a new one. You can make pretty simple jigs that work well. It might be easier than trying to fix the broken canopy.

As I see it, this is the yet, the best 727 - 200 in 1/144 scale model. It's very old but I think is the best. I got mine Mexicana version and believe me, no flash, all parts fit in an excellent way, no bent parts as wings, and decals were absolutely stunning. I'm not really an airliner lover but this one was a different model. Unfortunately, Revell Germany launched a new version that every modelist I've watched, they complaint about nose cone doesn't fit and in general they say that the whole model has a lot of flash. One feature I love about this particular model is that fuselage windows are completely opened. This provide an excellent option to light up the interior if desired. This one looks great molded in aluminum color despite is going to be painted as I assume. Have fun with it.

BE CAREFUL with those decals. Mine were too soft and they folded up into themselves. I got a replacement sheet and after putting it away in the box for a while, it adhered to paper when I failed to have the wax side facing the decals. The only luck I had was with airbrushing the surviving decal sheet with Micro Liquid Decal Film.
