Good lord, Whalen was awful. In Western Canada, he was popular with what little audience they had, but people outside see him as one of the worst in history. Just terrible.

The entire heel locker room coming out and taking turns on Idiot Ed would have been better than any WWE PPV in the last 20 years. Cameron, Bad News Allen, The Stomper, Mike Shaw, etc.

Completely unprofessional announcer who did everything he could to kill the heels' heat. Most promoters wouldn't put up with this crap.

Yes, unfortunately Whalen had a lot of power at the TV station and would cancel or threaten to cancel the show so Stu had no choice but to keep him around.

Never a Bulldog Brown fan, but wish he would have piledriven Whalen. Whalen singlehandedly f-ed up every heel's heat that ever worked there. Stu Hart was a moron letting that go on for years.

Context to this scene: Kerry Brown wrestled Ron Richite, Kerry put on the knucks, tried to take a swing at Ron, Ron throws him over the top rope for the DQ. At least in theory. Kerry thinks he won, but he was DQ'ed for using the knucks and Ron's top rope throw was considered self-defense by Wayne Hart (a nice nod to the Boring Bulldog throwing Chris Benoit over the top rope in a previous match with Bob Brown as ref). Kerry goes berserk, threatens to kill Wayne, Wayne threatens him with the suspension card (which is stupid, if you are going to suspend him, show the card and get it done. Don't use it as a threat.), Bruce Hart returns to make the save, basically saving Kerry from being suspended; Bob Brown clocks him from behind with a roll of coins, Kerry Brown throws Wayne Hart over the top rope, and it's Stu Hart and Dean Hart making the save, thus leading to the promo by Kerry who denies he used the dusters.

I love someone to explain to me the moment when Ron Richite says that he's a Canadian and damn proud of it, a Canadian flag appears and spins around. As the Hurricane would say "WHATZ UP WITH THAT?!"

A reminder: - Ed Whalen owned the production of the show and the promoters basically let him get away with a lot of stuff. I consider it a problem since Ed was also doing commentary for the Calgary Flames and this kind of funny stuff (and I do admit seeing Ed Whalen losing his mind is hilarious) could have resulted in legal action if anything happened to Ed. Stu and Bruce Hart should have smarten Ed up to this business and didn't do so. I mostly blame that for Ed Whalen walking off after Bad News Allen nearly "murdered" Jeff Goldie in that infamous moment, because no one smarten Ed Whalen up for fear of exposing the business, which was a case of too little, too late at THIS point. You can blame WWF and Vinnie Mac for exposing the business, but the damage is done and you have to adjust. - Also, Bulldog's "bleeding heart society" line is a jab at Ed Whalen's standards & practices of not showing blood or excessive violence on broadcasts.
