I have the ae92 MaxpeedingRod coilovers on my ae92 sedan. The modifications needed aren't bad at all. Just a few holes to drill in the front towers, elongate bottom holes on rears and keep stock top hats in rears

Not to sound like a douche bag but the rear struts you’re installing are not “Macpherson” struts.

My plans for this season... 94 cobra-Cut out and replace the rotted through-the floor subframe connectors, get it tuned, finish IRS install, make a custom intake setup. 03 911-Replace all bushings, throwout bearing, IMS bearing, raise the ride height, alignment. 81 924-EFI conversion, brakes, water pump, hoses, seals, replace every hose/vacuum/fuel line fix rotted floor, find some seats, install boost gauge, all brake/clutch hydraulics. 95 Mustang- add fuel, maybe change the oil. 17 Fit- add oil, change CVT fluid/filter, swap the all seasons back on. Too many projects!

Got one for ya: Dad has knee replacement scars running a foot down each knee. He was STRIP-searched by TSA on a connector to Orlando, because his Titanium knees set off the metal detector. When did TSA NOT train their badges to recognize surgical scars? Also: I dumped a handbag all over the conveyor just to show a badge my albuterol inhaler wasn't a single-shot .38!!! These clowns need better training.

lol my 86 mr2 is also drinking coolant rn. i replaced the two heater hoses in the engine bay on saturday and have been topping off every day. it was a bit suspicious how little coolant went in after replacing the hoses and burping twice. no leaks on the ground and engine bay is dry. no unusual smoke out of the exhaust either so no idea where the coolant's going...
@oioracing24 күн бұрын
It’s going into the 30ft of pipe and hose :) just get it good and hot with the heater on full blast go out for a good drive. Then let it sit until it’s fully cool and fill it some more. It’s the air that’s the enemy.. it’s in there and you gotta do whatever it takes to get it out!

@@benjaminlance8831 these are bump stops for when the struts bottom out.. which they do quite often when we rallycross
@benjaminlance8831Ай бұрын
@@oioracing I hear ya. I was under the impression you were changing the bushings not just for travel distance, but because they were worn and cheap. I could be wrong, but I suspect that with you doing Rally and driving aggressively, the ride should be better. A bump stop doesn't just provide obstruction to shock travel, but dampen and improve ride quality when it does obstruct the travel. Lemme know if I'm wrong tho. I'm curious how it turns out.

Valve clearance adjustments apply to all J series V6 also. Probably the most neglected maintenance item. If I had a dollar for every idiot that said the engines quiet it doesn't need the valve adjusted I'd be rich.
@radmilakrejci858126 күн бұрын
absolutely agree. lots of mechanics will tell you that valves need to get adjusted only if they become loud. contrary to that general belief we say loud valve, happy valve, its when they get quite you have something to worry about, most people worry about intake valves getting loose/loud and are unaware that exhaust valve getting tight/quit will result in burnt valve, misfire and expensive head work.

That place looks like a blast. How does it hold up? Which do you like better the fx or the mr2?
@oioracingАй бұрын
It’s a great site. Solid all day long. We only bumped one corner out once but not even enough to notice. The FX16 and the MR2 are like fraternal twins. Same car, just backwards. So the powerband is very familiar obviously but the drive is very different. The MR2 turns in like a FWD car and comes out like a RWD so it can actually end up being faster if driven properly but that would take someone besides me driving it. :) Brass tax.. the FX is faster in almost every situation but the MR2 is more fun.
