You said that distal means "further away" but that is not correct. Farther away denotes physical distance. As in, "I threw the ball farther than ever, or my fingers are farther from my shoulder than my elbow." Further is used as an indicator of depth of figurative distance. As in, "the further I get into this book, the more or Iove it, or I can't take this relationship any further." I don't mean to be pedantic, but this is a video about the proper nomenclature of scientific terms and their definitions. You see the irony? Just thought you might want to know! Have a good day!
