My comment is your camera work need improvement. To jumpy and not interesting views. Fire box view, once was enough not 4 times.

Yes, it's exactly the same type as the operable #4014. There were 25 made all in all, numbered 4000-4024, so this was presumably the fifth one out from the shop in 1941.

I have been to the Cripple Creek & Victor Narrow Gauge Railroad before, that was back in June 30th 2022 when I was riding behind Cripple Creek & Victor #3 (A 0-4-0T built by the H.K. Porter Company in 1927).

We just did the one in Durango, CO and I have to say that based on this video this one looks like it is not nearly as authentic and is double the price too ($324 vs. $176 for a family of 4). I highly recommend the one in Durango!

I don't know enough about trains, but I can't understand why the diesel locomotive is necessary. It is always there and it is clearly running. So how much of the motive power of the train is being supplied by the steam locomotive 4014?

All of it... the diesel is there for dynamic breaking required for running on the mainline and for communication services. It was used once I think last year when the Big Boy was on an excursion and they could not get water so the diesel powered the train until the next depot with water service.

The diesel is also there to supply the needed Positive Train Control. The 4014 has a monitor for it in its cab, but it’s the diesel that supplies the bulk of the necessary computer gadgetry to make it all work. If you look close enough, you can see a gray cable along the fireman’s side of the tender and water tenders that connects to the diesel, which is for the PTC. Pretty neat how Uncle Pete worked it all out, though I do hope they keep going and take it one step further and eventually have it worked out to where the 4014 and 844 have their own self contained and independent PTC systems, therefore negating the need to use a trailing diesel to supply the necessary computer gadgetry. UP did state in an article talking about the fitting of PTC to the 4014 that such a system was the ultimate end goal, but I’ve not heard much about it since then.
