@MRFIGHTCOMPANION Surely more could have been done. It seemed to me that he wanted a win over a named opponent (who had finished a fighter who was once champ) and the risk taking was low to ensure that desired outcome. These decisions age better with time. I remember UFC Fight Night 1 where Nate Marquardt was criticized for a lackluster win over Ivan Slavery but if you track their careers thereafter you see how much sense the safe approach makes at critical junctures.

@@Deleteriously it’s not meant to belittle. 2 things are true in regards to Brock Lesnar though. Heavyweight is THEE most volatile division, and he defended the title twice before being met by Cain. Who also only managed to defend it once, after beating Jr in the 1st rematch. And Cain definitely wasn’t learning.

That fight against Armen was razor close and could have went the other way, lots of media and people scored the fight for Charles..Fighters always get better on their way up, until their mid thirties, but their basic fundamental game really never changes..Once Chandler takes a few shots, he will resort back to a brawler, and get choked out by Charles..

Chandler definitely seems quite driven and he just might fight a lot smarter than he used to, but I just don't see him having an answer to Makhachev's grappling imo. The experience worth a lifetime of grappling simply would be too much for Michael to be able to handle. He most likely won't be a champion as long as Islam holds the belt (unfortunately for him) even though he is a very entertaining fighter and loved by many fans, all around the world.
