Aww he reminds me of my grandpa. He passed one month shy of his 80th birthday back in 2002. I miss him. I imagine him and George singing and dancing together with Jesus. Along with my other grandparents, parents and sister. Heaven seems to have more loved ones than earth does but that’s one reassuring hope that we have. Some day, we won’t need this old house no more. I hit 40 this weekend. I often feel like I’m hitting 80.

Let me start by saying I am a huge JD fan-met him once-and fully appreciate that he and Jake Hess were THE Super Stars of SGM. That said, whilst JD was unquestionably the lowest bass singer, prolific songwriter, an incredible wit and intellect, and was the ‘inventor’ of travel by customized busses and individual mics, he was not the BEST bass singer. That honor belongs to the ‘Big Chief’ James Wetherington!

George was on dialysis 3 days a week, from late, late 1999 until his passing in April of 2005. It really took a toll on his health/body. Bless his heart, he gave it his all.

Sad part about this, Jake's wife, Joyce passed away the same month, on September 23, 2000 to be exact. They would've been married for 48 years on October 2, 2000

He is George Younce (no more now) gone to be with the Lord, one of greatest bass singer in the gospel music. He is talking about another bass singer who was senior to him and had probably made the world record by singing the lowest note and his name was JD SUMNER.
