Fannie is a Cinderella type of character: good, kind, obedient. Though she isn't a family servant, she is at their service particularly Bertram's and is often verbally abused by Mrs. Norris, ignored by her two girl cousins (and other company). Through all her life she never becomes bitter, mean, or hard hearted in thought or action (less so). She remains true to herself and does have her own kind of happy ending.

“the state is the creator of right” How are these comments not seeing the inherent suppression of individual thought and will is necessary for facism to work. A unified state-governed consciousness is utterly impossible and bound to result in violent oppression

What’s so difficult about it. I am 78 and left school at 15, but I have no trouble 1understanding all this. The first time I read it I must have been about 12. I’m sure most of my generation would understand it too. In the 19th century books like these were popular entertainment.

Thank you for this, I really enjoyed the effort put into reading this, I loved the emotion you put into the characters especially Mr. Manette! And thank you for not making the female voices overly feminine 😁
