I was lucky enough to see Lonnie Donegan perform live on a couple of occasions. Even late in his career, he could take an audience in his hands and mould it to perfection. Superb!

I was born in the early 80's but I still remember to this day in the late 80's early 90's my parents/grandparents listening to this and all of us dancing. Its never left me such better times. When ever im feeling down or need a pick me up this is my go to music, such a shame we don't have these great times anymore the UK was so different then.

My late brother John was a big Lonnie Donegan fan, and although I was nearly 10 years younger I heard all the skiffle stuff right from rock island line to the battle of new orleans. I miss my brother terribly and hearing Lonnie always brings a smile to my face. Cheers Lonnie

Little story......years ago me and my mate were wondering around a seedy part of town.....the great Chas and Dave were appearing there that night.......as we walked....a car slowed.....window wound down" You looking for the gig boys?"........it was Chas Hodges!!!!!!!😊😊😊😊he told us were it was.....car parked and Chas,Dave and Mick got out and signed autographs and posed for pics......we were just 2 young fellers at the time, they were absolute GENTLEMEN!!!!!!! No ego at all,i thought id share that story with all the Chas and Dave fans out there👍👍🎹🎸

Don’t forget Bert Weedon. We had the Skiffle and Rock’nRoll records but no idea how to play guitar. Bert’s book of chords and where to hold your fingers; with our £3 guitars, a tea chest bass and washboard we’re musicians.
