EXCUSE ME?! What have you done to my heart?! After just finished watching the show, and then seeing this comic.. I can't believe I cried! This was so beautifully and thoughtfully written.. From Amity's perspective during the petrification ceremony 2:05.. to when she talks about everyone helping Luz and her final statement of her getting the diary 4:30 .. to Em's ulterior motive 5:17 this was a cute touch .. to what Willow would say at 7:36. And then adding the music from Eda's Requiem with Rain when Luz revealed the truth and Amity responded with such kindness and compassion! That was just... so moving.. I am just in too much awe.. The part where Amity breaks down at 6:22 really hit me hard.. I was crying already, but this just made me straight up bawl my eyes out. The love they have for each other is just too pure and even Mama Noceda saw that just in this conversation alone. I REALLY WISH THIS WAS PART OF THE ACTUAL STORY!! AHHHHH! 😖😖😖

Odalia is a character I've been thinking about a lot lately. For two reasons, mostly: 1) She is not a *likeable* character, but she is a well-written character - You enjoy the time you spend observing her from the outside, even though someone like Odalia would be a nightmare to know in real life. 2) It's interesting to ponder things like humanizing antagonistic characters (which TOH did excellently elsewhere with Alador) and what it means to change as a person specifically with Odalia in mind. So; can Odalia Blight be redeemed? The short version: No. At the very least, knowingly participating in genocide is unforgivable. That's a type of harm that is impossible to undo. The way she treats her family, the fact she tried to kill Luz, her daughter's friend and an *actual child,* she MIGHT be able to undo that harm given enough time... but knowing why Belos wanted Abomatons and giving them to him anyway is, again, "too much." Nothing she can do would make up for that, so she is irredeemable. I think when we analyze characters like this, we need to ask two questions instead of one. One of those I've already given my answer for: Odalia can't undo the harm she's already done, so she can't be redeemed. But can she be reformed? Can she grow as a person? Is she capable of changing such that she doesn't continue to harm people in the future? To keep it brief, I think it's helpful to consider a character's fundamental nature and their behavior separately because it allows for greater nuance in telling and understanding stories. Odalia's character is built around two fundamental flaws: 1) Odalia doesn't seem to think of other people as *people*. She sees them either as extensions of herself (like her children) or as objects by which to achieve her own goals - presumably power and admiration. Also notice how she interacts with other people in very transactional ways, almost exclusively through "deals." 2) Odalia is short-sighted and focuses so intensely on what she wants that there's no room for doubt or disagreement. The most egregious example being her prior knowledge of the Day of Unity's true purpose; she wanted so desperately to believe that she would be rewarded for her loyalty that the idea of Belos reneging on his agreement to spare her and her family either doesn't occur to her *at all,* or is willfully ignored. Odalia does what she wants in the moment, with little thought for long-term consequences. Therein lies the main obstacle. In order to change as a person, Odalia needs to first: recognize other people as worthy of respect for their own sake; and maintain the conscious effort to be a better person on the kind of long time scale that makes meaningful change actually plausible. Do I think Odalia is capable of change? Actually, yes. Believe it or not, I think Odalia can become a better person. But I don't think she *would,* not on her own, at least. Ultimately, she would need professional help over the course of many years, all while being denied access to any position of authority over other people that would tempt her along the way. Maybe in a future Owl House project, there's reformation in the cards for Odalia. But it would probably take most of the rest of her life until she can have a healthy relationship with her family. And I think that would be beautiful in its own way.

Man oh man, This episode was really something between Blitz and Stolas. Those two seriously need couples counseling. On a side Note, I absolutely love Verosika's New look. Like every time i see her, she has me swooning over her. And Glad that she's helping former Exes get over their past trauma and of course forgiving Blitz. Heres hoping she appears in more episodes in the future
