"3. What causes NETs to spread? Is there anything that is done to cause NET tumors to spread? " What about what causes them to begin with? I was told the main risk factors were smoking, heavy drinking, obesity and family history. 0/4 I had no symptoms until mid-Oct, diagnosed early Dec, told no liver surgery as they would have to remove most of the liver. Did a couple months chemo, going to start PRRT next week. Also, what do you think of embolization of the hepatic artery? had that in jan.

I had difficult side effects after receiving octreotide injection: hallucinations, diarrhea, high blood pressure. What do I have to avoid in continued therapies?
@zacharycat603Ай бұрын
I had rather severe pain during and after the injections. Then before the last one the nurse warmed the medicine rather than injecting it cold, and I felt no pain or after effects. No idea that such a small thing could make so much difference.

i was diagnosd 21/2 years ago with NET of the omentum. stage 4/ I have been on Somatuline monthly since then. I am due to have my first PRRT in early January. I am apprehenshive. Your testimony has helped me with my anxiety. I know that once the first treatment is done, I will feel much better. I have absolutely no symptoms so don't even know I have NET. So I am hopeful that the PRRT will just stop the tumor from growing. My life is full and I look forward to many more years. I am 79 years old.

Just to add some info here on my experience. I just completed my third round of PRRT. The biggest difficulty for me as it could be for others is travel. I currenty am going to Epic Care in Hayward California which is 3 hours from where I live. They are a fantastic group in a much more comfortable setting than a Stanford or UCLA would be. My experience so far is very positive with some side effects but nothing that prevents me from normal function. I'm pretty late in the game with NET as I was diagnosed 6 years ago. I believe that earlier treatment would have been better and that is pretty much the only thing I would have done differently. Sending out love and hope to all you folks.

Hi, you have finished third rounds of 4 cycles? 12 cycles? and every round is same efective in time or is shorter than the previous?
@manjeetsagoo87472 ай бұрын
Hi very encouraging video thanks. Just wanted to know how many cycles can be given to a patient. My husband has just had his eighth. Had seven cycles between 2015 n 2018.

I have neuroendocrine breast cancer stage 1 but grade 3 poorly differentiated. er+ pr+ her2-. After lumpectomy, they told me they remove all cancer, lymp nodes negative, margins very good. I'm 72 years old all scans (chest/bone/brain) no metastasis. Need to do 4 rounds strong chemo, then 12 weeks less strong chemo, afterwards 3 weeks radiation plus 1 week booster (radiation) and hormones therapy. Oncologist told me that if I don't do any treatments, i have 80% chance of recurrence. Do you think its worth it at my age with all side effects, do I have a chance for survival?

God bless you! Thanks for the encouraging remarks. I will be starting in about a month or so. I wasn't as anxious myself. My wife had concerns. I'm glad she was able to see your video. Now she is not as stressed, and that's a comfort to me. I know everyone is different, and results could vary. But you and other people's positive testimony have been encouraging.

I had PPRT at City of Hope. The people there are wonderful. The procedure was explained, and I did surprisingly well -no vomiting. It wasn’t until the fourth infusion that I felt weak. But it went well. I have stage IV metastatic to the liver, and it is suspected that it started in the pancreas. Took awhile for the fatigue to subside. A year out, I feel much better. Scans show improvement. Glad to be alive. Thanks for the videos, Lisa.
