Right now I’m pulling 120 line amps, pushing 200 peak phase if I remember correctly. Not close to maximum limit of the controller which is 530A phase which requires a serious battery and wiring
@brentcollins9727Ай бұрын
Does the controller get any airflow to keep it cool?
@back_up_mike28 күн бұрын
The controller mounts with its heat sink in direct contact with the aluminum bottom panel of the bike. With the newer design someone in theory could add thermal past to increase its cooling abilities, and the panel itself can be modified to increase it further! Really cool stuff! It has never gotten hot enough to cause any concern even on hot summer rides. The motor is something that could benefit from cooling over long rides, and spark can add cooling fins as an add on

@@back_up_mike , cool! Thanks for the info.
@brianwilson3133Ай бұрын
So you said early on that the battery wasnt meant to handle the more powerful controller you put on, how did you address that?
@back_up_mikeАй бұрын
You can dial down the power draw of these fardriver controllers to match whatever battery you have. I tuned the controller to pull slightly more line amps than what the BMS is rated for, with much higher phase amps output. Not a good long term plan but for testing it works. Eventually I’ll have a custom pack for full power
@brianwilson3133Ай бұрын
@@back_up_mike okay thanks! Sound like a trade off. Are you going with a range extender battery or an all new custom pack?
@back_up_mikeАй бұрын
@@brianwilson3133 it’s definitely a trade off but still a serious machine! I’m going for an entirely new custom pack

I’ve attempted to make this video multiple times and each time I left something out, it something important happened afterwards! I knew there wouldn’t be any benefit pumping out a quick first impression video like everyone else already has! Had to show why they chose me as test pilot! 🧑✈️

Mike, it's Rory from the UK. How do you like those handlebars? I've got some myself, but I've yet to try them out, friend 👍🏾

Hi Rory, thanks for the comment. I love these bars! The look more swept back on camera than they actually are, but I love the height on them. I wish I could find them in a thicker diameter but tall rise bars like this are hard to find!
