Most of my seeds are from Mesa Garden. Some of the cold hardy seeds are from the cacti out front (Echinocereus triglochidiatus and dasyacanthus) and I also still go looking on ebay and etsy randomly. Hoping to increase the amount I start from my own seeds. Thanks for watching and commenting it's much appreciated!

It's driving me nuts at 1:20 it should say Echinocereus ahhhh

Blimey, that's a lot of outside ones. Only got a few here, it can get down to minus 10c in the winter sometimes here 😬😬🌵🌵
@PlantFun17 күн бұрын
It actually gets to around that here as well but it's a dry desert climate. If you're familiar with Mesa Garden I live less than an hour away from them, though they grow most of their stuff in greenhouses. There's quite a few plants I've seen growing here that according to their USDA zone shouldn't grow here but I see them around town. I'm ready to lose quite a few plants this winter as an experiment because I really want to push the boundaries and see what I can get away with in the yard longer term. A LOT of the plants in this video are considered borderline so I wanted to document them this fall and in the spring there will definitely be an update what made it through. Thanks for watching and commenting Ziggy ❤🌵

@@ZiggySearchfieldCactus Oo interesting to hear that! My personal yt account is polluted with so many things the AI thinks I like but I keep the watch history pure on this account and it only shows me plants! 😁 If anything non-plant related gets in my watch history I go to the history and manually remove it.

Doesn't make much sense to put them all back into a bigger pot together, especially considering how big they get, and that they'll need to be separated again later, instead it would be better to pot them individually or having maybe just 2-3 Agave seedlings per pot.

Hello! could you please give me some recommendations for the cultivation of monilarias? I'm really not very clear about what climate they prefer Thanks :)
@PlantFun12 жыл бұрын
Hi! Monilaria aren't cold hardy so if you live below USDA zone 9 they'll have to live indoors. They germinated well for me at moderate temperatures around 70F. Asides from that I'd say just give it a try and see how it goes...they don't seem to behave significantly different from the other mesembs I've grown. The main challenge with these will probably be learning to read their seasonal watering requirements once they're older since they are adapted to south african climates. Good luck!

@@KCnelsonKC They're brains aren't compact. In proportion to the their body size, the way it matters, there's are huge. Oh sure, the gorilla can speak sign language, but the scrub jay moves its stash of acorns if they think another jay saw it cause they understand there's no honor among thieves.
