Considering the shadow sorcerer gets the darkness spell at lvl 3 and the ability to see through it (when cast using sorcerer points) Then he/she gets the ability to summon Hound of Ill Omen at lvl 6... Do you think the hound should suffer any disadvantage when fighting in magical darkness? The description of the hound doesn't say it has dark vision or devil's sight or true sight but it does say it knows exactly where it's target is... And I don't see the authors purposely hindering the class's main function.

Personally? I don't think so. I would probably treat the Hound as if it had blindsight, but only for its intended target; it's using its supernatural senses - its perfect knowledge of where the target creature is - to locate and attack it. The feature does also say it uses the dire wolf stat block, with some specific changes, which means that it has Pack Tactics and Keen Hearing and Smell. Do with that what you will.

@@undercommontaste so since it "knows" where its target is it isn't disadvantaged when in magical darkness and since the target can't see the dog, the dog has advantage on its attack right?

@@justbplz I would assume so. It's an extension of the shadow sorcerer - the target also gets disadvantage on saving throws against the sorcerer's spells while the hound is within 5ft - so I don't see why it shouldn't get advantage.

@@undercommontaste yea, if the hound knows exactly where the target is, and the target is essentially blind... I would assume the hound gets advantage on attack rolls

Zaireil can only be killed by hitting 0 and not regening on her next turn so what managed to stop her regen?

Acid damage. She got swallowed. Because she was inside the tarrasque, she couldn't teleport out, and due to the tarrasque's fire immunity, she couldn't deal enough damage from the inside to force the CON save to make it spit her out.

Lol never in the states but I’ve had raw chicken and didn’t like it but the only place I’ve ever had it or will ever have it again is Japan. They are like Wagyu chickens that they personally butcher that day. It’s like a lobster dinner though it’s not a normal dinner and it’s an acquired taste even among the Japanese.

We were running our greatwyrms - and the aspects, for that matter - using the stat blocks from Fizban's. In those stat blocks, there is no spellcasting, and therefore are no spells, listed.

There's no way Demogorgon should have been able to win with Sul Khatesh's Arcane Cataclysm. It not only makes his spells completely useless, but because the gaze is described as magical, the gaze is also nullified in the anti-magic field. On top of this his tentacle attacks are entirely useless due to the fact Sul Khatesh is immune to non-magical bludgeoning damage, making the only form of damage he can deal the 4d10 necrotic from his tail, making him only able to do a maximum of 4d10 damage per round, which Sul Khatesh heavily outclasses. On top of this, Sul Khatesh can cast Foresight, giving them advantage on everything and Demogorgon disadvantage on his attacks, and Sul Khatesh can cast shield every round giving them a 27 AC. Assuming Sul Khatesh solely uses Arcane Blast, which would have a +18 to hit with advantage against an AC of 22, this gives them a 98% chance to hit Demogorgon with every one of his 4 attacks per round, while Demogorgon has a +17 to hit with disadvantage against an AC of 27, giving them a 25% chance to hit Sul Khatesh with his one legendary action attack. That's not even the end of it, because Demogorgon has to make a DC 26 Wisdom save every round or be stunned, which it has a +11 and advantage, giving them a 51% chance of success, so basically Demogorgon is stunned for half the time. This gives Demogorgon an average DPR of 2.8, which Sul Khatesh outclasses by 20 fold. It is not even funny how outclassed Demogorgon is.

How is she failing so consistently with a +14 Wis saving throw with magic resistance and legendary resistance? Especially since the gaze effect is random.

Question what about her javelins? and/or legendary action teleports to go 120ft into the air? Not to be that guy but I think this one should have been a slam dunk. That said Zariel is doing like 2d8+5 a round so that would just be so boring.... so no real opinions here

This was Archduke Zariel of Avernus, from the Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus book, not Zariel from Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes. AZoA doesn't have javelins, and she has to be able to see the empty space she wants to teleport to, in order to use her ability, so she can't teleport out of the Tarrasque. So, once she was swallowed, all she could do was try to make the Tarrasque spit her out, which required her action to attack (so she couldn't teleport), and then the Tarrasque used its Chomp legendary action to bite/restrain her, and its Swallow action on its turn to swallow her again.
