Everything worked out, and that boat is that heavy, but there was no reason he should have lifted it that high to move it, that just added to the danger if it fell

My 1971 85 hp sounds exactly like this and the thing still fires up right away. It pushes my 17.5 ft boat 34 mph and just asks for a little too much fuel in return for its reliability. Replaced ignition points, power pack, cleaned carb and she will go until they outlaw 2 strokes. It keeps the mosquito population down when first started, but that been part of its charm since I was a little kid.

Listening to that engine brings back good memories 🙂 Can almost smell the 2 stroke oil burning.:) Those were great engines, as a kid my brother and I would look forward to seeing the new model year engine, what the design on the cowling looked like and what the new biggest HP engine would be.

parisienne didn't sell well in u.s, the only reason u.s got parisienne, is because pontiac downsized the bonneville, (renamed the grand lemans), which was a huge failure.

Though I have had (and enjoyed owning/driving) a number of Cadillacs and Chevrolet Caprices, and, at least as far as the Caprices are concerned, wouldn't really mind having another one, still, I'd rather have one of these or an Oldsmobile 98 or a Buick Park Avenue/Electra/LeSabre any day of the week. Give me any one or all of those over a Cadillac or a Caprice. (The irony here being that I've never actually had, driven or rode in a single one of those other cars; still, for me they are nothing if not at least visually and stylistically superior to the Cadillacs and Caprices of the same era.)

Mine's name was Hal, black top, blue interior, somehow got 25 mpg if you weren't playing around. Got t-boned around 2005 and would've been fine with 2 new doors because it was a tank, but the insurance company declared it salvage due to age and I didn't have the cash to see that through. Thanks for the memory trip, and RIP Hal.

This was the Top of the Line Pontiac in 1985. The best Pontiac had to offer and honestly just a beautiful car. I come from a hardcore Pontiac family and the Bonneville was the model to own. But the Parisienne was even nicer. They were so distinctive with those rear fender skirts and opera lights. The Brougham was worth the extra money in my opinion because you got the pillow top seats and nicer pull handles on the doors. Wish more people appreciated these classic cars. Great video.

Am I going to be the only Pontiac fan to point out that this car has the extremely rare optional gauge package. You almost never see it on the full size Pontiacs but you can clearly see in the video the temperature and fuel economy gauge. Awesome car.

Sharp eye Kenneth, this car has pretty much every option offered other than a sunroof and leather. One really cool thing is that the emission controls on this car doesn't include an air pump with that extra power robbing belt. Maybe because it was from Saskatchewan. Every other one I've seen has that though.
@klwthe3rd
@klwthe3rd 5 жыл бұрын
@@cluricaun78 Yes, if it was a Canadian built car it probably wouldn't have the air pump. Yours also has the fairly rare optional rally wheels. Most came with the optional wire wheel covers. The leather and sunroof options are probably the most rare of all as i almost never find even the most fully loaded examples with those options. Sadly, i'm not a huge fan of the white exterior color but you do have a very beautiful car and i hope you enjoy showing it off as much as we do looking at it.
