We've only just found your channel ... brilliant! Love how your not constantly showing what your eating or showing off your van interior 🙄 I like how your giving details on where your at, what the sites are like and how much they cost, things people want to know. We've had a camper for about 7 years, thought we'd been there done that, but you have shown us bits and bobs we didn't know about ... every day's a learning curve 😂. We'll definitely be watching from now on 👍

Brilliant vlog. Can’t wait to see the non drama next week… see I’m hooked already. 😜. Good on Durham cathedral for their dog trial. Love it in Durham. We stayed at the Rowing club CL and just walked along the river into town. I can’t remember the price but remember at the time thinking it was good for the location. Stay safe today. You have been in our neck of the woods. 😎 We live 5 mins drive from Backworth Hall in Forest Hall. If you go to Durham again look up Beamish open air museum. Great day out. We also use to live opposite Durridge Bay at Hadston. Lovely beaches round there. Monks took St Cuthbert from Lindisfarne and dropped him off at Durham Cathedral when they were invaded of the Vikings. Maybe the local guide mentioned this to you Jane. Northumberland county council charge £12 a night at car parks in Amble, Beadnell and Bamburgh. Maybe you used one of these in part 2. Eat and Sleep Lindisfarne is a free stop off with a cafe on site for breakfast. Looking forward to part 2. 😊

@ my live has changed massively in the last two years. I’m now a widow, We always camped but decided initially we would get a motorhome, then due to covid and my husband illnesses it got delayed. Cutting a long story short my husband due to his illness passed away the night we had put a deposit on a caravan so I know he passed away happy. I love watching peoples adventures so I’m know desperately trying to buy a campervan., so at least I can do some of what we hoped to achieve. Therefore please keep inspiring us.

We have an Ibex 19MSB travel trailer ( caravan ) and we live in Canada. We prefer to camp off grid so we have a 2kW 110v inverter which run the outlets in the trailer, this runs off 200 ah of Lithium iron phosphate batteries and 400 watts of solar. We also have a 50 amp Dc to Dc charger connected to our truck. The system is great for making coffee when on a 1300 mile road trip to Florida and keeps the batteries charged.

It’s costly though and easy to over spec (better than under specification) so have a good look at how you use your van and how that is likely to develop. Thanks for another great video, we found it really informative and enjoy your humerous approach to KZbin. We are just in the process of fitting a Sunshine Solar inverter to our Motorhome too. Unlike you, were not KZbin multi-gazillionaires, so I will be installing it myself. I am installing it so that only the motorhomes 230V sockets will work off the inverter, so that there's no chance of flattening the battery with the heater. How is your installation configured to prevent the inveter being turned on while on EHU?

I am indeed in a privileged position, having gazillions 💰 to blow on a professional fitter 👌or, the actual truth, I am useless at that kind of stuff 🤣 The Sunshine unit is a good choice, apparently it’s well built and reliable, a bit more expensive than some, but not eye an watering price like many. I deliberately asked for the unit to not auto switch on (so not to turn on if EHU was disconnected) which gives me flexibility to decide. But I can use water heater and heating, for a very short time but only on the very low setting, sort of emergency use. So it relies on us turning it on to use when off grid and back off again. The way I leave my heating set up (on 3 kw) means that even if (probably Jane!🤣) accidentally turned the utilities from gas to electric ⚡️ the inverter would alarm as it would be overloaded at 3kw. Good luck 🤞 with your install, remember that blue is live and brown is earth and green is neutral 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Cheers 🍻 for watching 👀 Andrew, Jane & Buddy 🐕

Like you, we have taken early retirement too, so weekends are just a time for me to get annoyed at how busy everywhere is compared to a normal weekday 😂 I'm not quite sure I understood how your setup avoids you being plugged into a EHU and turning the inverter on at the same time, which would damage the inverter. Usually there will be a switch that you have select for EHU or Inverter, or you can get an auto changeover box that knows when your on EHU. I'm sure that as you had yours installed professionally that there's no chance of damaging the inverter, but was interested to see how they had done it. I think we may need to upgrade our DC-DC too, as we only have a 25A unit at the moment, so will keep following your videos with interest.

If the inverter is switched on while on EHU it is not damaged (must be some form of fail safe protection in there) as you can do this and use as an uninterruptible power supply. I too grumble (Jane would say extensively!🤣) about how busy weekends are! And try and avoid them. A sign of being a grumpy 😡 old man 👴 apparently 🤣🤣

So many coincidences! I was in Gisburn today for my dog's hydrotherapy. I had Rhino Installs fit an inverter/lithium set up. However, I spent the night in the pub carpark round the corner and had a very nice meal. Unlike you, I had a nightmare with my B2B not working with the smart alternator in my van even though it was supposed to. The Victron Orion 50 watt unit seems to have finally sorted that though! I'm afraid I can't think off any electrical double entendres though.

Just found you today, very funny. We spent 5 weeks in Greece this Autumn as part of a 9 month S Lutheran Euro tour. One of our favourite countries and we home to return, driving overland this time, next Autumn. We stayed in the Peleponese and it’s definitely worth a good bit of time.
