I raced in 1989 and 2015 and the race is so different from 1989. Much more physically demanding in the modern era....even taking age into account. In 1989, from the start to Bundooma there were only whoops at the 30kms dune and maybe a few others area but not many and not prolonged. From Deep Well onward was on the road, flat stick - no whoops until Bundooma. Hats off to you fellas today because 2015 was physically the hardest anything that I ever undertook.
