I just watched another video where someone tied the "crappie charmer" - liked the pattern so I did a full search and came across yours. I like yours more. I like the tuft of dubbing at the head. I will be tying a bunch of these - THANKS!!!!!!!

Dude, I watched this with the sound off, and you were totally making this up as you went along. You're just tying in shit helter- skelter. You've never tied this exact fly in your life, and I'm pretty sure you could not tie the same fly again without referring to this sham of a video. Not that you would want to tie the same fly again. Like us, you had no idea where or how it was going to end. You knew you were done when you hit the bead. LMFAO.

I like the idea of this fly, but when I tie some, I will leave a larger gap between the rump feathers to get a more streamlined profile and to avoid filling in the hook gap with too much material. The movement of the hackle should be great. Thanks for the demo.

I know this comment is about a year late, but who cares?! Your vid on tying the Dalburg Diver was just about as clear a representation of crafting this famous fly as I have seen. And having seen a lot of various abilities, your fly makes the most sense to me. The colors blended well, the production of the video was expertly done, and your reasoning for the way the fly was tied was excellent. I wonder if the collar height matters on the performance of the fly? I would think a higher collar might yield a louder attracting burble to the fish. Anyway, your creation was superb. Thank you!

Absolutely one of the coolest flies I've ever seen. The craftsmanship is top notch. Thanks for uploading this. Just perfect.

when you say you would fish it with sink tip , are you referring to an actual sink tip that you attach to the end of your floating line? Thanks

Do any of you know where I can fin the recipe and maybe step by step on Blane’s original? I don’t see foam eyes on his and it doesn’t look like he uses the mallard.

Hy and thanks from Iceland. I actually have been wondering about ( and you guy's "going on a break" kind of made me want to "put it out there") a group on a channel like yours that could be from around the world but putting up videos on the channel. This would ofcourse have to be moderated by 1-5 of the people but it could be a really good idea without the pressure of few people having to make all the content.

Is a 5wt good for carp? I have an 8wt as well.
@visesquad85322 жыл бұрын
Hi Kyle...that is a good question. I think it really depends upon how good one is at handling a fish on a lighter rod. I have known guys that routinely fish with a 3/4wt and catch Trout that are 2-4lbs. You cannot simply try to bull the fish in like you would with heavier gear or you'll snap the rod. You need to have a rough idea of the size of fish you're going after and then keep in mind that you don't want to over tire the fish because it will likely die when released if you practice C&R. A 5wt should be fine but the real variable will be what are the sizes of the Carp in the water you're fishing. I hope this helps. Cheers, Rick
