Butterfly at 3:54 is a dingy skipper, fairly scarce but widespread. Usually a good sign of good quality habitat if you see them around

Do you need some type of permit for this type of fishing?

For fresh water and rivers you need a rod license for sea fishing you don't

I dug up two common lizards in the winter when I was digging out some shrubs. They were very torpid and it was cold, wet and getting dark. So i put them into a container of soil based compost. They both burrowed in at once and there they stayed in an unheated shed until last week. Now they are awake and I have been feeding them mini mealworms and small crickets. I had intended to release them when I saw other lizards out and about, but I have just read that once you start supplying them with food, they stop foraging for themselves if you release them into the wild. Have I doomed them to a life of captivity?

Hey sorry for the late reply no you can release them. They have a natural instinct to hunt don't worry they never loose that, they are intelligent little guys they just saw free food they can become accustomed to it but they will always hunt for the food when it comes to it. It's best to release them buddy plus if the wrong people find out you kept them you could get into trouble as it's illegal to Keep our native species from the wild. But trust me mate they will be absolutely fine 😊

I'm in Nottinghamshire,it's great hearing that there's a good population in Gloucestershire. There's a good population here but not many people know where to find them or know about them.

Great video mate, awesome little river, great to see you out making more videos again. That foraging was interesting to hear about, especially hearing you talk about that stinking nettle weed you can eat raw but like you said, not highly recommended lol. Look forward to your trout season & would love to see you do a catch & cook & eat of the trout, keep them coming 👍🏻
