Which is the best supplier, in your opinion, for roadside charging? I'm based in Weymouth, so most of my long trips are still in the south of England. Don't want to be getting umpteen cards, as I suspect I'll only need a top-up very occasionally...

Also in the summer I was getting 313 miles to a full charge, now, in January 2024 I am getting 252 miles to NINETY % charge. I suggest you stop driving in divers boots ;-) and put you plimmies on!

Hi, thanks for this video. About to buy a '4' trim of the MY2020 KIA e-Niro and gutted to find that the 4+ is so much better. Do you think I should still get the 4 without the Sunroof, memory seat, ventilated and rear heated seats, BSD and speed limiter, etc? Will like your opinion and thanks for the video.

I had a 42 plasma tv from Panasonic (one the first models that came out at that time). Using a wattmeter, I realized that thing sucked 300W ! Now I use a TCL 55 inch that only draws 50W and between 17W and 20W if lower the brightness. Not sure I can find something better for that size.
@lovemadeinjapan
@lovemadeinjapan Жыл бұрын
My 21 inch CRT consumes 35W and was on like 300 hours a year, basically using like 10kWh. My 32 inch FullHD Bravia was on 2 hours a day, and it uses 75W, so that is 55kWh. These OLED TV's do like 100W and run for 3-4 hours a day, that is 127kWh. My CRT deserves a A-label posthumously.

That is just a very complicated way to say Watt. 1kWh=1000*1*3600=3600000 J. So if you divide it through 1000h, which is 3600000s, the result is 1J/s, or 1W!

(Oct 2021) I’m torn between the Enyaq and the e-Niro. I hate the way Skoda got the price down for the PiG just so they can then charge us extra for everything. I like the Kia 7yr warranty too, but I’m curious if the front wheel drive traction issues let it down a bit. The enyaq is rear wheel drive and has things like the 360 parking cameras that I’d want (as an extra, obviously).

I just bought my 2020 Kia Niro EV Plantnum Edition about a month ago here in the States. I absolutely love it. I get about 4.5 kw per mile or whatever the number means. I'm pretty new to this numbering stuff. All I know o get 245 miles every morning I'm head out at 80% charge. My job is about 42 Mike's from my house. I get home with about 159 miles left and that's using the AC going, lunch time, and coming home in 93 degrees weather here in the south. I drive using cruise control snout 65 miles per hour. I love the Kia. I'm happy with it. Very efficient EV. That's for your videos. I love them.

Hi E.V. Does it. On March 1 this year the energy ratings for T.Vs were reclassified in that a set @ "B" rating previously became a "G" rating under the new terms. This was introduced to remove the confusion whereby A+++ , A++ A+ and A had developed in the system previously. In any case your TV is currently costing about 1Penny per hour to run, - not bad value don't you think?

Had mine for a year now. Efficiency is between 4 to 4.5 miles per kW for me. So consistantly getting between 260 to 280 miles on full charge, more than stated EPA range. This is in line with the recent real world range tests of current EVs by Edmonds, www.edmunds.com/car-news/electric-car-range-and-consumption-epa-vs-edmunds.html. The heat pump loses me less than 5% at worst. Without heat on during cold winter drive, range took a dive but recovered range when heat turned on, minus only 5% then. So use the heat when it's really cold.

Good video! Do you actually get 220 miles? Like you could drive 100 miles and then home again and arrive home with 20 miles left? Or is that just what the car tells you but it drops 5 miles range for every 2 miles you actually drive? We have the E2008 and the range clock starts at 196 miles, but then we drive 70 miles on the motorway and the remaining range drops to 60 miles 🤨 So real world range we probably get 120 miles per full charge.

The 2 is quite a lot different with smaller range and less powerful motor. Also less of the fancy stuff. But from what I've heard still drives well and would be a great option if you don't need the kit of the 4+ or the longer range.

I Have recently found and subscribed to your channel as I am due my Kia E-Niro 4+ in the next week. It is surprisingly difficult to find information on the 4+ model so it has been great to see that you own one. I looked at cost of my Audi Q5 on PCP and worked out for 10,000 miles per year, I could save almost £300 per month by switching to a leased E-Niro and of course charging at home on a cheap night rate. Paid 3 months up front fully maintained at £405/month. I ordered ot months ago and suffered a further delay due to the Governament grant changing. Leasing will be a new experience for me.

Good honest review, but whilst you had no real difficulties my overall impression is that getting more charge was pretty constantly on your mind and the frustration of trying to get one of the charge points to work. Hopefully when I may make the EV switch towards the end of next year (22) both the charging infrastructure and the vehicle ranges will have improved somewhat, this is simply not an issue with petrol/diesel vehicles.
@EVDoesIt
@EVDoesIt 3 жыл бұрын
Well I think recording it and editing it make it seem that way but to be honest it’s not really something you actively think about more than you would think about stopping on a normal long journey. The only one difference being when we got there I had to actively find somewhere to charge but that to about 2 minutes. But of course I could have stayed somewhere with a charger and wouldn’t have had to do that.

I currently drive a petrol vehicle, also Kia, and am pretty happy with it, but will probably change it September 22 when it reaches 3 years, and have been considering an EV for my next car. I suppose with newish technologies there are always going to be improvements on a pretty regular basis, so whenever I take the plunge I’m sure more improvements will come along soon after. It’s very useful to have your real-world experience so thanks for taking the time to pass it on.

4 chargers in 500 miles. Blimey that’s a lot. I would of thought 3 80% chargers would of done that trip. It might be a good idea to remove the roof bars when not needed to get a bit better range. But I’m with you I would always head for the insta volt chargers mainly because they are one of the most reliable ones

To be fair, it was our own inefficiency rather than anything to do with the car. We stopped twice each way which wasn’t strictly necessary. Could have stopped once and just charged for a bit longer.

On the hole a good review video. But waiting for that next generation Hyundai and Kia my guess is 9 to 12 months and at the Kia e Niro 4+ spec will cost considerably more money. My advice if your in the market for an Ev now I would recommend the e Niro or if you can live with the looks the soul Ev first addition which after the grant now costs £32400 and is very well equipped. As for the range of your Niro my cars showing 224 miles range with 76% battery left I can see regularly 300+miles from here on though to September/October admittedly I’m not belting up and down a motorway. Overall I like you love the car it’s quick when you need it to be (overtaking) and economic as well as being comfortable and a good boot size for me
