Could you please make comparison video of eco vs. evo? I would like to know which feels warmer in cold weather and also which feels more comfortable from temperature point of view in warmes summer days. Also which is stretchier, if there is a grip difference, flexibility difference, intensity of furface feel difference, wear of bottom difference, ease of picking smell in hor weather, ease of picking smell in wet weather... I currently wear my third pair of evo, haven't experienced as early side tear as you have, but I agree, it should be upgraded. If undamaged look was important for me, it could meant a pair for few months, which is unacceptable. My first twoo pairs finally ended after 3years of walking, hiking, some running, occasional cycling and few times of kick scootering. Side huge tears in material, holes between most fingers and hole in front of left shoes of both pairs. Those were black, so with black sock they looked relatively acceptable from distance for over a year of wearing each. Now looking for something to change the third pair when it's wet... Also looking for something for colder weather but without too much surface feel and flexibility loss. And especially I don't know what to wear in wet weather like wet leafs, wet grass, some mudd, shallow ponds... And what for warmest summer days on the other hands.

Hey man, I have some v-trail 2.0’s, I absolutely love them, but I’ve only worn five fingers for the first time in summer. How do they fair with just average wear/ standing outside in the colder weather? The hot pavement comes through in the summer, so I assume a reasonable amount of cold in the later/ early months of the year (I live in Ohio). In general, do vibrams fair decently in colder climates? I’m talking like freezing temps and up, I’m gonna go snow boots for the rough stuff. Btw, I love your crown of thorns on the wall!

Thanks for the reminder that this is easy. I've used shoe goo and it gets dry and crusty at the edges. This time I had a massive repair (the entire sole came off) and so a cobbler video recommended contact cement. It took some care, with thorough prep (I wiped the surfaces clean with rubbing alcohol) and some planning on how to keep the sole and cloth separated for the parts that were just edges or toes...and then being careful as I reconnected them, since contact cement bonds instantly so there's no moving it once you've joined them ... But I think the result is much better! I'm hoping it will last longer too. UPDATE: alas, it didn't last at all. Within about 3 weeks, the contact cement was separating completely, and so I'll have to start from scratch. I might try cobbler's glue, or return to Shoe Goo, and be very careful in the application to apply in with a THIN layer.

Do you know if the upper material is a blend or faux wool/hemp (depending on the model)? Their website uses dubious wording. Polyester wool and polyester hemp respectively. Not poly/wool blend, for example, like most companies would say. I am just wondering if the wool models are reinforced with polyester or if they are polyester felt that is meant to mimic wool. Which would go against the whole premise of the shoe.

The VFF are the best shoes I've ever worn. They have done more to correct my problem feet than any doctors or expensive shoes and orthotics. My comment is this: the best runners in the world heel strike. When running in barefoot shoes you should still heel strike but you should do it lightly and skillfully. Hitting fore-foot first is a fad and will cause bodily damage over time. That doesn't mean that there's not times where you need to strike the front of the foot first, as in mountainous trails, put in general heel strike lightly and round the foot, don't slap. That's my two cents. Excellent video thank you very much.
@Keithustus
@Keithustus 2 ай бұрын
heelstriking is the dangerous fad. The "best" runners heelstriking is not because it's best for you but because we've engineered shoes to be able to let humans get away with doing it, and only in the last 100 or fewer years.

I'd argue the best runners don't actually heel strike at all. Track spikes are made for forefoot striking, and elite marathoners keep their strides under their shoulders rather than stretching out for heel striking. At least my experience is that striking with the mid foot keeps me from injury. But do what works for you.
@FisherMan-bh9dn

Hi Reagan, one trick you can use to paint over silicone caulk is to apply a paintable caulk, like Dynabond 230 over it. The Dynabond will bond pretty well and will avoid having to remove old silicone caulk that is in good shape instead of tearing up the walls getting it off. Thanks for the videos.
