Oh my goodness! This was so cute that I ran to get the pattern. Dug out my old tshirts and made one for my grandson! It’s soooo cute!! Bonus was that I didn’t have to hem it and was just able to use the trim of the shirt!

If you're a VERY experienced sewer then it should be a VERY quick project for you. A beginner may well need 2 + hours but it's unlikely you would. This seems like an odd kind of question but sure... please let us know how long it takes you :)

PVC is plastic, so you used metal plumbing pipe. right?

Yes, PVC is poly vinyl chloride which is plastic. I am guessing that what she's using is metal conduit.
