So many great observations in this video. It is a classic. My journey closely mirrors Spokane Steve. Started with Cadaco All-Star Baseball. Next came SI Baseball -- the first mainstream game to feature left/right splits. When I first saw Strat played by a friend in spring 1972 -- the 1971 season and he was playing Mets with Tom Seaver vs the Phillies -- I immediately wanted it and used my friend's order form to purchase an 8-team selector set. This 1971 set was the first advanced issue. Next I purchased the basic 1920/1930 old-timers and loved those teams. Still my favorite C&D baseball game to this day.

1980 was the season that Hal Richman went against tradition by having all pitcher "4" columns as their main "hit" column. Needless to say this did not fly for long.

Agree with Jeffrey about basic/advanced stealing. A "B" stealer gets 1-13 chance and -3 if held for a 1-10 chance irrespective of catcher arm. Surely a "B" is not meant to be only an average stealer. I prefer advanced over super-advanced across the board when playing C&D and only use super when playing computer. Exception for C&D is that I use the SA groundball chart.

I only wish I would have been available when this was happening...nice job men...Jeffrey, keep this kind of stuff up...I love to hear others stories of table gaming. I haven't watched it all yet, but if it was anything like the talk with Baseball Demos, I'm sure I will enjoy it greatly.

Yes some backgammon tournaments use similar devices and they call them "baffle boxes" so the dice are harder to manipulate.

And the reason I'm getting into this: I hate the direction modern sports is going. The rules are being absolutely shredded to try to appease to a money market. The players are lazier and feel they're entitled to more for less. TV costs have skyrocketed way too much as a result. I'm done with it. Give me the classic better days of the games.

Ok, had to comment again. No hitter on the roll is pretty incredible. You really make the game come alive Jeffrey. Are you playing through all the games for the 1969 season?

Really enjoyed this, Jeffrey and David - thanks for putting this together! Really appreciated the "sneak peek" at David's setup. Also, you asked David the top things he didn't like about Strat, but you failed to ask what his favorite things are (unless maybe I missed that?).
@jguterman18 күн бұрын
I did ask about his least favorite aspects of Strat. David mentioned not all players being carded was among them.

I didn’t watch until the end. Looks like I might have to. Yikes! Are you also adjusting the relief pitchers fatigue? Or is it only the starters?
@bobcole939820 күн бұрын
As for the rule change “love it” I just find 2 is too few a hit and / or walk in the inning is too easy, I’d go 3 and 3 (rather than the 4) in the rules. BTY Romano was the Jays closer, don’t think they’d put him in in the 6th

You likely caught this after the fact but at the 6:37 mark here you put Kiner-Falefa's lineout one box too high, which throws things off.
