But it's so polluted and covered in garbage from the last century and a half's worth of industrialisation, did you remove all the trash first and clean the area? lmao

Actually, the number one cause of insulin resistance is fructose consumption. We know this because of the work of Dr. Johnson, who understands evolution is reality. I'm not sure Bikman believes in evolution. 75 percent of Mormon's don't.

iron zinc and iodine are easy to obtain from plantfoods, and b12 comes from not eating commercial produce all the time, swimming in lakes, drinking spring water, and walking barefoot; and omega fatty acids? nuts, seeds, seed sprouts, seaweed, marine phytoplankton, greens. and DHA/EPA are endogenously biosynthesized inside us. she is full of shit. HOWEVER, she is right about phytates and legumes and grains, but not nuts and seeds; there's the clincher with the conjectures. and oxalate only binds to minerals too much, creating sharp irritant crystals WHEN IT;S COOKED!

"it's just a fact a biological fact" it blimming well isn't! this cursed woman is sharing CONJECTURE as the omnipotent truth. her limited experience of people on vegan diets; especially raw vegan diets, has skewed her perception of the ultimate truth! the most powerful way is with detoxification of the body, and food; and ANIMAL PRODUCTS AREN'T HUMAN FOOD! we have no paws no claws & inadequate teeth and jaws, and particularly in context of mental health; OUR GI TRACT is structured 3 - 4 x the length of a natural omnivore's (let alone carnivore!)!!! This woman is DELUDED! you may see short term alleviation of symptoms in many mental illnesses - ADHD, depression, autism, schizophrenia, BPD, (not narcissism funnily enough), but that in turn opens up over the space of a decaded or 2 to subtle - but very evident - deterioration of brain functioning, poor deductive reasoning and logical skills; and less and less serotonin & oxytocin as the years go by, running only on adrenaline and dopamine, as the main neurotransmitters; which manifests in a cold hard grumpy even sadistic temperament; as opposed to a warm vibrant creative and genius level intelligence self. WHy? we are FRUGIVORES. the ketogenic diet runs the brain on METABOLIC WASTE PRODUCTS; as opposed to glucose from FRUITS, which is it's favoured fuel. amino acids, and SUGAR. no starches; no refined sugars, FRUITS Our macros should be HIGH CARB; MEDIUM FAT, LOW PROTEIN

Genuine question - so what does this mean for countries that do have high carb intake like pasta and rice dishes, where people aren't as obese as in UK and USA, do they have other markers or studies like more mentally unstable or less intelligent people? I don't think so but I'm honestly asking to understand what is the point of this for the brain? Are there countries out there now that primarily eat a ketogenic diet, are they smarter or something? That part seems to be missing from this whole presentation.

The energy analogy, or the car that is full of fuel is the best image that helped me a lot, when you eat it spills in the blood steam and creates issues over time, thats why fasting and exercise is so important.. thank you dr fung

@ 11:23 The question "Does cooking destroy phytic acid in legumes" was posted on Chat GPT The following was its response: Yes, cooking does destroy phytic acid in legumes. Phytic acid is an anti-nutrient found in many plant foods, including legumes, grains, nuts, and seeds. It binds to minerals like calcium, magnesium, iron, and zinc, making them less available for absorption by the body. Cooking legumes breaks down phytic acid, which increases the availability of these important minerals for absorption. Additionally, soaking legumes before cooking can further reduce phytic acid content, enhancing the nutritional value of the food.

I fully agree...but she didnt even mentioned copper which is necessary for zinc uptake..she didnt mentioned the microbiom qhich ia responsible for nutrients uptake and not even mentioned you can eat the healthy diet but if you have outside factors like nerv enpinchment through bonesa and pathogens through food poisoning and moldy environement etc...the diet will make nothing for your health

I fast regularly and it does me ..and my brain..the world of good. Super clarity, concentration, self confidence, energy. Fasts followed by a period of ketogenic diet - great. But eventually I did return to one or two slices of good sourdough bread and LEGUMES. Lentils, Brüssel sprouts , onions, peppers etc. Other nutritionist talk about the brain gut communication and how the biome likes LEGUMES. Now what should I believe.?

So these two doctors were at a convention in a big hotel. One of the convention rooms was chock full, standing room only, and they couldn't get in to see what was going on. One of the doctors said, "Hmm... It's full because more people keep going in than are coming out." And he was right. But the other doctor asked, "Why do so many people keep going in and why do they not come out"?

My 57 years old mother has T2D and can't go even a few hours without food or her body starts hurting. She is scared of her blood sugar dropping even to 100. How can she possibly consider fasting 24 hours when she can't even do a 14 hour fast everyday? I'm genuinely looking for information in the regard and can't seem to get a clear answer anywhere. Does she simply need to get used to the feeling of hunger and the pain is non-lethal, or is she too far gone to ever consider bringing her health back on track?

Just a thought, when I used to do intermittent fasts, I’d take a table spoon of coconut oil in the AM to keep my stomach from going crazy. Also, she can have liquid, so maybe teas with Splenda or just water. Lastly, I would shoot for a 24hr fast until about 3-4 weeks after the baby steps. She could eat the last meal at night 0800 and not eat again til noon the next day, that should get her to 16hrs. Best to your mom!

Im 63 and have been doing intermittent fasting for almost 4 weeks. I've lost 6 lbs. Weight is 154. My last meal including fat and protein is no later than 4, preferably 3pm. My next meal is 9- 9:30 am. I'm doing 17/7. Have her try a 12 hour fast then 13 and increase by an hour each day to 16/8. No snacking at all after dinner. No snacking after first meal until dinner. If she can't make it between main meals do a light lunch. You get a hunger pain or 2 but it goes away in minutes. Then the body eats the fat and gives you energy. Give up all sugar and grains. Sweeteners will make you crave sugar, don't use those for at least a month. I don't drink sodas, tea or coffee. I don't like tea and coffee 😅. Only water. Eat nutrition to feed the body. Look at healthy meals, what goes into her body. I'm not diabetic but think I'm getting a couple of symptoms. Yesterday I ate 3 homemade muffins ( hadn't made them in several months, they are lower sugar ) and my legs tingled the rest of the day. I ate one today and they tingled again. No more I'm going for meat, dairy, salads etc The symptoms will motivate you to eat healthy. After I lose another 20-25 lbs I will eat lunch. No sugar, no grains, no processed foods, no seed oils. Cook from scratch. Hope this helps. 😊

I did Atkins diet most of my life. Developed high Uric Acid (gout) and Hyperinsulinemia 316 pmol/L. What most don't know is that meat raises your insulin as much as some carbs. When I switched to a whole plant based diet (whole grains, legumes, fruit) with some fish and chicken, I no longer take Berberine and Allopurinol for my uric acid. My fasting insilin is down to 110 pmol/L. Look up Low Carb and Insulin Resistance. Bikman talks about OVEREATING carbohydrates how it affects fasting Insulin. OVEREATING of anything affects your insulin. OVEREATING meat raises your insulin.

The psych lady is hysterical: fat folks are crazy. It's bc carbs. Reduce carbs=reduce crazy (& reduce fat folk: 2 birds one stone). Psychiatry is a failed & desperate science. It shouldn't blame carbs. Carb reduction helps diabetes. Lowers insulin. That is proven. Beyond that, it's value in obesity is limited to limits on junk food & breads. However, folk dont need carbs to be obese. It's more complex than that. (Sorry Taubea. That does not diminish your work💜) Vegetarianism & plain old weight loss is a valid approach to diminish diabetes, apparently. WHO really shouldn't pick a side. Cultures have their own dietary restrictions, & we have to be mindful of that.

You can do the same by eating a very low fat, plant based diet. And you don’t have to starve yourself in the process. I did it. Before, I could eat a small potato and have 200+ blood glucose after 2 hours. Now I can eat a huge one and it will be under 130 and often under 100. I’m not saying you shouldn’t fast. Fasting is fine and can be good for the body. Just saying it’s not necessary if you’re not comfortable fasting.

It’s possible the bad small LDLs were out of control… and that’s largely genetic. And there are clean and “dirty” ways of being on a ketogenic diet. I eat mostly fish and whole foods, no sugar or processed foods. Did your friend’s dad eat that?

Put words between asterisks. Like **this** Note, I put two asterisks on each side of the word “this”, because only putting one each side would not have made them appear on my post. Just put a single asterisk on each side to made the words bold. **It also works with whole sentences.**
