Can you use a non-stretch polyester fabric? Or that would be problematic because it wouldn't stretch, eh?

I wouldn’t use non stretch fabric for this type of dress. If you use non stretch fabric you would have to make the dress looser fitting and add a zipper

If you turn your design over & peel the backing from your design, instead of the design from your backing, it will go alot faster and easier. Plus, less chance for your vinyl to stick to itself.
