In my 2008 GMC Yukon Denali, when it rains for a whole day, water drips inside where the light that turns on when you open the door !!! could it be the sunroof seal? Or what you thing is the problem? Thanks

This did not work for me. I am an engineer and know how to follow directions. Maybe I have a newer machine or a different machine or a different firmware. When I do this fix the machine throws a lid lock error. I think it tests if it is locked and unlocked, the state has to change. My lid lock only has 3 wires too. I tested it with an ohmmeter and can't see how it detects the locked state. Darn! I wanted this to work!

How do you get the front off?

Too much work. Just use a clothes pin in the back and a rubber gasket in the lid switch slot

Hate my SQ as well. Had issues with the lid lock and now can’t clear the Er 65 error. I unplug it like I’ve read, and it works for load and then goes back into error mode as soon as the load ends.

Unfortunately the TR series in the speed queen line are a poor design, they have had allot of issues the TC5 and TV2 models are still the best and true tested older style Speed Queen washers!! I suggest getting one I’ve owned mine for 2 years and love it!!

We’re currently having a problem with the lid lock sticking every now and then. My husband bangs where the switch is, trying to unstick it. He figures if he breaks the whole machine, that’s fine with him. Speed Queen came so highly recommended and he hates it. Who makes a washer without a rinse and spin cycle? Speed Queen, that’s who. Commercial quality?

This must be a 2017 model when they first redesigned them because everything 2018+ is bulletproof.

Currently working on this same issue on a 2006 Z71. Haven’t ever had any* leak problems until the last 2 major rains we’ve had, which soaked the driver’s side. Hoping it’s just a weather stripping issue.

I got a TR7 for the quietness also- & it is! Trying this- my housing is slightly different-of course! the popsicle stick does not fit and hold- It won't make it out the other end no matter how I fiddle with it. To be clear, when I lock this piece into position, the lid will still close, with the top lid hook just sitting in place but not latched...yes? thanks!

I poured water down the front windshield and it looks like I might have a bad seal. Noticed the water disappeared but not following the little drain. I don't have a trim piece that goes across the top of the windshield. not sure if the windshield was ever replaced, I am the 3rd owner.

Used your method with silicone to bridge that little gap but noticed it still leaks

The new GM door gasket for extended cab is just under$200.00 each. Worth it if is solves the problem.

Same problem, Silverado driver side rain gutter rubber piece has a space right where windshield trim begins, leaking water onto inner door gasket and down to soak the carpet. I changed out the inner gasket for a new GM gasket and filled the hole in the rain gutter . The old inner door gasket metal was rusted at the sill area and leaking into the wire channel and subsequently soaking the carpet pad. Old gasket was full of moisture noticeable when removed. If this doesn’t fix the problem it surely will diminish the problem. Good video.

If you have a lid lock failure, two flashes on rinse and lid lock, in my case the connector was loose. I plugged it back in and it solved the issue. Might only be temporary so eventually might do bypass or order new part. Mine was a tr5

OK, I tried this and I can get it to do one cycle, but then it stops and I have to mess with the switch again to get it to work. I put the Popsicle stick in just like you showed.

I may do this. Just bought a TR7. Unfortunately I didn't see this review after looking at lots of YT videos. I've had this for a few months and its working fine, however I'm now getting a Lo Er message and I can't find any info on the website what that means. It's not fun getting the lid to unlock so I can finish my load.

Thanks man. 07 Tahoe here. I think I'll use silicone above the seal, below in that gap AND fix the weather seal. That soaked floorboard is a bee-otch. Got it almost completely dry before figuring out exactly how it was happening (thought it was my window visors), then it rained really heavy and drenched the floor board again. Not cool.

My leak was on the drivers side coming out of the dash. Following it back up to to sun roof found it was a pluged drain. It ran down the head liner to the left windshield post to the dash. Took a wire and pushed it down the drain to open it

I think my wife's Denali has the same issue. Will check it out tomorrow

Having the exact problem for over 4 yrs. 3 bodyshops to no avail. So a couple of things…my trk is white and I put white butyl in that gap…I also adjusted my striker to make my door close a little tighter. I can’t believe it takes people who aren’t in the “bodyshop” business to figure it out. Great video
