For anyone considering the adult bibs, my Mom has been wearing her "pearls" at every meal for some years. She loves them! I think she's got about 10 of them. She's given them as gifts as well and they've been well received. We look at the "pearls" as fun. Like she's dressing up for each meal. Highly recommend.

I am 88 years old those hearing aids that you talk about are no good. You need to go to a hearing specialist and get a hearing aid and adjust it according to your hearing.

Kudos for your thoughtful and USEFUL suggestions. I've seen so many videos of insulting videos that assume that just because one is over the age of 65, they are completely disabled or demented. These are suggestions that actually would be welcomed.

I need a GOOD shoe horn, I've bought several but they are painful to use. I'd like one that is wide to hold my shoe open with a shovel-like handle, told my son I need to invent one...

I love older ppl. I work at a nursing home. These are great ideas but, let me stress that the best thing you can give an older person is your time. They just want to know they are loved, appreciated and valued. Bring a gift but, when you bring it, stay a while and come back often. This seeing them 2-3 times a year on their birthday, Mothers Day and Christmas is not good enough.

These are nice suggestions. As a senior myself, a great gift for me would be pet care like groomer appointments, pet sitting if I must be hospitalized for a few days, pay for quality pet food, pet health insurance or cover the pet's medical costs...Pets are so important to many people. I am no longer able to afford veterinary care for my little old dog. I pray she doesn't get sick or injured!

My sister refuses to use a lift chair or lazyboy type recliner because she is deathly afraid a pet will get underneath and harmed. Maybe the seat raiser alone will help. I wish the chairs had warning systems!

I bought the gardening kneel or seat for both parents to use as help getting up and down. But also if they fall they just have to crawl or other parent brings to them and super stable so other can help guide but no lifting. Have already fallen and dad helped mom climb up. The door handle auto is a hit too. You need it before you need it.

The car assist gadget.I did purchase but every time I used it.I would forget to take it off the hook and then I shut the door on it so I sent it back. It is a great idea and it works well if you remember to take it off before you shut the door.😂

I'm 66 and I have a friend who is some number of years older...how much older?...after 30+ years of knowing her, I still have no idea!😂😂😂 Anyway, she wears her food....it's not even an elderly thing, some of us just wear our food.🤷🏻‍♀️🤭 She has a friend who makes adult bibs and she kept asking for one, but the friend was too busy with orders, so I bought her the exact one you showed. She's a bit of a fancy-pants, so the pearls were a perfect choice. She loves it.👍🏻😁

My husband who’s been disabled for ten years has tried many of these items. It really depends on your personal limitations to which would be helpful or not. I have had that can opener for years and it’s a great item. We found the manual lift thing was not comfortable to sit on and you have to be able to lift yourself up somewhat in order for it to engage. I could go into business selling all the stuff we bought and tried and ended up not using. I get as much as I can through thrift shops and auctions that way I don’t feel like I broke the bank if they don’t work. Lift chairs have their own issues depending on the persons mobility or lack there of.

Newspapers and magazines are just clutter. I am all for digital magazines.

All brilliant ideas! I’m 54 and have many of the items you mentioned! I love my can opener, grabbers, I have a magnetic grabber as well! I have my appointment with the audiologist this week 🤣. My husband is over the moon, excited! Even with ear protection, bombs and bullets are wicked on one’s hearing. Who knew!! 🤭🤦‍♀️

My local Lazyboy chair store has boards that the chair runners go into and raises the chair up a couple inches. Great help for getting into and out of chairs safely.

Sorry to say that those wonderful lift chairs are Extremely hard and not comfortable because of all of the Mechanism inside.. It would be good if someone could make one that still had a comfy seat. You had some very lovely ideas. I thank you for all of them. I have quite a few of them And i'm eighty one Years old. I live alone and I still drive. Keep up your great work!
