So, I made a remix that went viral on TIkTok, only using the original vocals and pitched them, then i went to contact the original artist (on Instagram) to ask for permission to upload on spotify etc, he agreed and I have proof of it. When I went to upload to distrokid, there is no way to upload a proof of consent that I can upload the remix, but I uploaded it anyways with the proper credits for the original artist (vocal credits, feat name). They responded me with "we need more information" but no way to reply with the proof that I have. Can i get some info because i dont know what to do since I really want this remix to come out.

I work very hard on my AI songs in SUNO, even uploading melodies I play on guitar (yep, I AM a musician!) and using the extend feature (on the uploaded audio) to create an AI generated track as a starting point, for many of my songs. I then manipulate the AI around that new clip (cropping out the original audio). Then I move on to creating covers, extensions, using the 'replace section' feature etc etc... adding MY OWN lyrics, etc etc. So what the hell should I put in Apple's little Performer/Producer credits considering at least 70% or more of the input has "human" involvement. The output shouldn't matter. Did they ever crack down on synthesized music created in a DAW? It's not unusual for me to spend weeks producing a single track and revising/remixing it. While there are plenty of songs that I can tell are AI produced, anyone would be hard pressed to tell that mine are. Every single one has a natural cadence and feel to it and I often use a specific persona I have created for certain vocals for consitency across my tracks (both lead and backup vocals). I even clean up, edit, EQ and remix in Audacity and use OpenVino to increase resolution for clarity. I don't release anything for public consumption unless it is impeccable. Yada yada yada. Its still ridiculous that you have to pay for a plan to use the music. AI music is a tool, like say a word processing program, the company that made the tool cannot claim ownership over what you create with the tool. Its like saying that You wrote you book with a word processing program But since we created the word processing program now WE own your book. AI should be viewed as a tool otherwise its going to get dystopian real fast, it gives the Music generation company a wide birth to claim ownership over everything unless you pay them. Imagine if you bought a music instrument and the company that made said instrument said that everything you play with it is owned by us.

Not sure if folks are going to see this, but I hope you all think about the fact that right now AI generated music is started to bury human music in the algorithm, and as more and more people hop on the band wagon for making money with AI prompted music, this platform which used to be an awesome place for discovery, is going to go to shit. I'm not TRYING to be a doomer, but this is such a clear pattern and most people just don't care about the damage being done. It's reminiscent of algorithms on Facebook promising "like interests, like connections" and creating a land of echo chambers 15 years ago. Please at least tag your videos as AI generated, so that the meta data exists for those of us with moral conflicts around AI training, or even those of us who just want non-AI content, to hopefully one day filter to "human-only" content.

i make 740 a month usually with ai music, it really isn't hard to make decent money with. if i made more music and was consistent with the releases i could be doing 400k/1.3m streams a month. I'm defiantly gonna be more consistent this year, but its not entirely ai, it creates a beat then i alter it. i personally use bandlab as its all copyright free material (i make lofi beats) planning on making a profile with my name and doing it properly in the next 2/3 months.

So I did the stupidest thing ever - I claimed the wrong channel and out of panic I immediately deleted it, because I thought I could then claim a different account if the original one gets deleted. Boy was I wrong. Distrokid can't help me (they said so through support), nor can KZbin (since it doesn't have any form of custom support). It seems I messed up big time.

you make a lot of very good points in this video. ai music was always going to be inevitable and people will want to listen to some of it because some of it is simply amazing. the music industry will just have to live with it in the end.

I made an album with AI and after 6 months it was removed from all platforms without any reason, I used distrokid too. I don't think AI music has a future in streaming platforms, it's too disruptive a technology

an incredible amount of music, or really good music. just saying. youll know the difference between a human being actively involved in the compositions, and 100 songs more or less auto generated by the AI. not knocking buddy and his experiment here, just saying. all the same issues apply to AI music with getting your art out there, and probably a little more due to the stigma. And yeah, i think the community is a bit too focused on streams. I personally have begun stressing a move to bandcamp for more direct community
