@@MrDamiz3 Oh yeah I switch between the PvE tree which is basically all left and the PvP tree where I pick up some useful skills on the right. Updated the pinned comment with the PvP tree!

Great video brother! Love the transmog btw! Fashion is on point... I've ran a ton of m1-m2 on this and want m3 but feel like you can get away with ignoring alot of the mechanics on the lower difficulty's and I still dont 100% understand the last fight... I get the green points but unsure of how the mages factor into the fight i.e. to kill or not. I know you said its bugged but maybe fixed now and/or curious how it is supposed to work. Assuming they should be killed to prevent something from happening. We killed them last run and there was zero breath attacks but maybe a coincidence? Thanks again for the thorough breakdown. <3

Appreciate all the kind words brother. I do believe they fixed the issue with the mages now, not entirely sure what they do though sorry. I sort of remember hearing they have something to do with the weak point stage.

i have a rapier ice gauntlet build i use for pve but want to change ig for bow in pvp, do i have to make the bow nature or can i make it ice? is the damage alot less if it is ice eg runeglass and such only asking because i already have a full ice harnesing set

Yeah I think you can really swing this build with any elemental type conversion. Some are harder to get gear for, but if you already got the gear go for it! ex. I wouldn't pick lightning with boltcaster meta ha.

And yes the str heavy and light attacks do apply to bow. I prefer it over int as in previous post allows me to switch in spear as needed.

My favorite build now. boltcaster is fixed now but for just prefer the ability to swap on spear when I feel like it.

Would this build be serviceable for PVE too? I hate switching builds all the time...I know this isn't the best PVE set-up I would prob switch out Rapier with GS but would the bow setup and armor setup still work for MUTs?

Yeah totally man, main differences you're going to want for mutators is the gems. Make sure you've got enough of the specific element res. Throw on an amulet with ex. fire protection. Then you can drop your constitution down to 50-100 for max dps.

Oh I just have a lot of gear with dex on it or magnify! the greatsword I use came from the glacial tarn expedition.

The strength thing is that the 25 perk gives both 25 and 50 perks, its odd but it hasnt been fixed yet :)

it actually means bows attacks both the short and long draw are coded as light attacks, not light and heavy attacks. That is why the 25 str passive works for both. the 50 str passive actually doesn't work for bow. Great vid and effort! See you in Aeternum o7

@@51Grimz I think bow is a main weapon and gs in this build should be used for ability dump. But if you see value in using heavies a ton. That’s up to you. I just think bow dmg first usually since you’re likely using it more.

I haven't put the investment into getting runeglass for the armor in this build yet but I definitely recommend doing that if you've got the gold!

Yes and no, it counts towards empower cap so depending on how your bow tree is, and your ring and harnessing + honing stone you should be empower capped most of the time if not all the time. Im not 100% sure that empower cap is working correctly however since I notice that in testing I get more damage with evasive tactics than without it even when I know im well above empower cap. Idk if its an empower bug or specifically with that passive but something ill have to look into. Empower cap is 50% fyi

@@ans1l71 True that's something I learned recently too. Runeglass count towards your empower cap, and if you're already close to it with all the other things. It may not even be worth spending the money on. I wish there was an easier way to tell what % empower you were at though.

10% from harnessing, 10% from Runeglass, 7% ring, 10% dexterity dodge, 15% bow dodge if left tree = total 52% am I right? Should be 100% up-time ish if that’s the case and you’re dodging every 3 seconds.

Good named Greatsword to upgrade for this build: nwdb.info/db/item/2hgreatsword_cantilevert5_v2 I made another upgrade today on my ring. Crafted another azoth crystal ring with lightning damage! which is expensive, around 20k. But a whole lot cheaper than crafting one any other way or buying one.

really confused because most youtubers agree that 25 str is bugged but that the bug is actually giving the additional damage to both light and heavy attacks so there is no point in going to 50 str, and just pick up 25 str

You do gwt most damage output by putting it all in dex. Get rid of int.

Yeah just completely drop the int or go 50 int if you run jagged on your boltcaster for the bleed bonus. The 100 and 150 dont even properly scale at all for boltcaster.

@@51Grimz heavy attacks are coded as light attacks so 50str no good. 25str gives more dmg thou, but very little, like 2.5% or so. 150INT gives a nice bonus so I would keep that.

The poison DoT's scale off nature damage! Bleed is just 15% of the weapon damage. Which I think is the combined nature / thrust damage from the bow.

Didn't hear that was broken, but it appears to be working now! I see DoT of nature damage which I think is the poison upon hitting people with my bow.

Okay im completely new to the Game and I’m looking what build to play. Wanted to go with boltcaster but after a few games changed to lifetaker+syncretic with 50% void dmg and stack void dmg on items. What I learned by watching the guides is that your arboreal gambit from rapier and augmented arboreal from the bow both inflict nature damage dot, and they don’t stack. So you are kinda losing damage there. It would be better to put any other dot on rapier I think. Keep it in mind I’m not 100% sure and I never tested that myself, but I saw that on some guides. @fegifox That's a good point that the two poison DoTs on the weapon runeglass dont stack. They do both apply the same DoT, but I don't think that it's too bad since you'll only ever have one weapon out at a time, and the DoT only lasts 2 seconds.

@fegifox Lifetaker / sycretic is a really good build too! I personally like the bleed one better because of the rapier. Another note is when you stack a bunch of a certain elemental damage on your gear. Using another elemental runeglass means you miss out on those.

Couple notes from someone who mains boltcaster: some lightning harnessing and/or electrified runeglass in armor can take your damage a lot higher (lightning dmg on ring also). Also would consider at least going 150 con if not 200 especially if you are playing bow/gs. You can cut back on the strength to 25 or drop it all together and go 100 int and you shouldnt see as big of a drop in dmg as youd think. With my full harnessing + runeglass set and attuned leather pants I consistently see between 4500 -7000 on heavy attacks and thats running 200 con, 100 int 25 str and like 330 dex

Oh yeah thank you for mentioning electrified runeglass gems in your armor! that's a big DPS upgrade for this build. It can be quite expensive though. I'll try running the higher con with lower str/int though. Appreciate the advice man.

Adding to this thread. As of S4 release, the Boltcaster has not been properly scaling off int with the 100/150 perks. I’m not sure if this has been patched or if intentionally designed. I do 50/370/50/5/150 with featherweight as well. I wear the PvP Light helm and legs, aureate kiln arms and feet. I went 5x lightning, 2x elemental aversion, 2x shirking heals, 2x health, 3x refreshing, 1x physical aversion cuz featherweight. Argument to go all health and drop the shirking , but this set was easy to put together without crafting. I use Cantilever Greatsword: relentless freedom, keenly jagged, vicious. Boltcaster- keenly jagged added.

Yep I'm running lightning attuned on the GS and it's hitting around 5-6K for heavy attacks when I crit.@@51Grimz

Just curious why you chose "Grimz" as your brand. You do realise there is a really solid and well known content creator called Grimmmz? Now you can do what ever you want, but if you are creating content, then you are clearly wanting to make a business out of that content. It isn't a very smart business idea to use such a similar name to another content creator because not only will you alienate potential audience, you will cop immediate backlash and hate from his audience should you get the notoriety you seek. Even if you do become successful, wouldn't you wonder how much more successful you could have become under your own flag, not someone else's. That is just my knee jerk reaction to stumbling across your channel for the first time. Consider it unfiltered feedback. On a secondary note, The stats and effects from your second weapon DO NOT affect the other. We learnt this with the luck perk. If you go up to a chest with a sword and shield with CON on it. When you loot the chest your health goes down because you are putting the sword and shield away. The perks and stats from weapons are only effective when they are out. So just to let you know the Boltcaster abilities wont benefit you sword.

I've had this name for probably 15 years now. Actually played some games with Grimmmz, like h1z1, a long time ago. It's a little confusing but I'm not too worried about it. There's a lot of people named Grimz, it's just a common name. I also just do the whole content creation thing because I enjoy it. Not interested in turning it into a business. As far as the artifact perk applying to both weapons. It actually does! The Electrified perk explicitly says "for both weapons". A lot of builds in season 4 of new world are centered around taking advantage of that. Like the syncretic bow and finisher build. Which I'll probably make a guide video on too if you're interested in how that works. You are right that normal weapon perks don't apply unless you have that weapon out though. Good to note the luck thing.

I've used this build for PvE and ran up to m3 on glacial tarn with it! Works well with expeditions where lighting damage is good. Ex. Ancient mobs. Just make sure you stack enough elemental resist 40-50% of whatever the current mutation is. I recommend using an amulet to get 15% elemental protection.
