My dad said he had a 50cc what did 60mph. I didn’t believe him. Asked what it was and it was the SS50. I had a Honda MT50 is 80s what did 31mph, had to put big bore kit on it to get it up to 45mph. Would of loved of been around before the 1977 restrictions 😊

Hoi Bart, vroeger heb ik ook een SS50Z gehad en mee naar Zwitserland gereden en grotendeels over de Duitse Autobaan achter een dikke vrachtwagen aan gereden met plm. 85 km/h ! Ontsteking vast gezet, 20 mm gasfabriekje erop en gaan.Op de lange rechte stukken haalde ik ook nog 1 op 50, kon het niet geloven! Ik mis mijn oude liefde wel, heb 2 C50's gehad en de laatste was mijn SS50 Z met gele tank en verlaagde uitlaat. Later in mijn studententijd ingeruild voor een oude Eend en ook daarmee naar Zwitserland gegaan. Toen ik jouw video zag barstte ik weer van de Heimweh!

Thats 60mph! No way and it got there so quick! My 1970 SS50 5 speed was perhaps the most powerful ever made, 6ps (hp?) at 11,000 rpm and the speedo line for 5th was about 54 - 55 mph but I could never even get that on the flat. Lucky to get 50 most of the time! And that took ages to reach.

Nice! From the times when restrictions were no where to be seen. Even if you increased to 124cc it's quite good. I recall a friend and his brothers changing them a lot and even stuffed a SS50 5 speed motor in a tiny Honda mini trail (Monkey) with a lot of changes and that thing would give an heart attack to the most seasoned biker. LOL :-)
