So if I don’t have the nutrients prob in the solution it won’t calibrate the ph?

Is it okay for it to calibrate at 6.8 instead of 7?
@wegrow48598 жыл бұрын
6.9 is acceptable but 6.8 is a little out of range. We recommend cleaning the probe with a soft bristle tooth brush with Blue Lab's ph cleaning solution under clean running water. After, store it in Blue Lab's KCL storage solution for at least a couple of hours. It's extremely important to always keep the probe hydrated in KCL solution or 4.0 calibration solution. NEVER in reverse osmosis water. If is it still reading 6.8 after cleaning, storing, and calibrating then check the manufacturer serial #. The pens have a 1 year warranty from date of purchase. It should start with "BP1" then a series of four numbers. The first two represent the year and the next two the month. Ex: 1201= 2012 of January. Hope that helps!
@twang43728 жыл бұрын
what happens when your ppm readings feel way off? can the ppm probe be recalibrated? or can you only clean it?
@infinit118 жыл бұрын
You can clean it with their cleaning kit or take some 1500 grit sand paper and wet sand it until you see just a small amount of the carbon start to come off.

Indeed nice and easy. But do you have any video for the new HI98100 which does not have any calibration screws? It is probably easier. And how do you actually do the test on a sample of tank water? I know I sound like a dodo but I need some help. Probably I will check with my friend who is a chemistry professor.
@wegrow48598 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, we do not have a video on the new HI98100 pen. However, by visiting the manufacturer's website, they provide an instructional video on how to calibrate this unit. Calibration with this unit is done with both a 7.01 and 4.01 buffering solutions or with a 1 point calibration that is done with only a 7.01 solution. Calibration cannot be performed in sample water but only with the aforementioned solution(s).
@Sudipto17Kolkata8 жыл бұрын
+We Grow - thanks a lot. That silent video from Hanna is pretty useless, compared to this :-) It will make sense to someone who knows how to do it. Not for rank novices who have never used anything similar. I worked it out ultimately with the help of the sales guy from Hanna and your video gave some confidence. I was a little surprised that one does not need to rinse the probe between dipping in the two solutions. Is it special about this new machine? When I tried to rinse it after the first dip in pH 7 it showed an error message. Anyway, thanks for your video.

I bought this but there is no EC solution kit in the box, should I calibrate EC or it's not necessary
@wegrow48598 жыл бұрын
There is no calibrating function for EC on this meter. Bluelab has a 2.77 conductivity solution in which you can test to make sure the probe is dialed in. Regular cleaning and checking the probe once a week is best.
